WASHINGTON -- U.S. officials tell The Associated Press that they believe that none of the Navy SEALs who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan had participated in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, although they were from the same unit that carried out the bin Laden mission.


Sources say that more than 20 Navy SEALs were among those lost in the crash in Afghanistan...

That's a damn shame, not to make light of it, but helicopters are like that and thsoe SEALS knew that.


I personally wish we had a better delivery vehicle available.

I personally wish we had a better delivery vehicle available.

They are still using those old chanoke helicopters. They are great for carrying large amounts of people, but not very good for air assaults into hot LZ's. I'm guessing they were just being transported from one point to another and got hit by an iranian made missile.

Well putting the missile aside for a moment, helicopters are in and of themselves dangerous. They fly against all conventional wisdom. Just death machines really.

Just found out that one of the SEALS killed was a kid my younger brother went to HS with. Left behind 2 kids and a pregnant wife.


Prayers sent to all the families.......
