Ask most men and women how they meet the people they date, and you’ll probably hear answers like “through friends,” “online,” “at a party,” or even “my mom set us up; she has better taste than I thought!” Some people, however, find romance in much more surprising places — and their stories are testament to the fact that if you’re looking for love (keeping common sense and safety in mind, of course!), you should always keep your eyes peeled. Don’t believe us? Check out how these readers ended up clinching a date.

Some listed were:

Idling on Freeway
Asked out a bank teller
Dialing wrong number

All I've ever gotten from wrong numbers was interesting heavy breathing and sexual inuendo. (maybe next time).

Anyone have any stories about stange places you met a boyfriend/girlfriend/date?

Current hubby and I went to school together but didn't really "meet" until one night when I walked out to my car after class and he happened to be parked next to me. My mini-schnauzer was in the car and he noticed and said "I used to have one of those dogs, but my ex-wife got to keep it"...and six months later we were living together...and that was 20 years ago.

Guess what they say about puppies/dogs is true then. Great for attracting the opposite sex :)

I'm trying to think if I met any of the men I dated any place unusual. Mostly the normal places you would meet a person...school,church,weddings, parties. I'm boring.

I did date my bowling teacher while in college (met him in the school bowling alley)...don't know if that counts as strange though. ;)

There no dating sites in Hell, for Hell is a place of the eternal torture of the damned and a world of fire and a lack of peace according to the Bible. However, there is real Hell on Earth with the wayward dating sites such as a hypocritical eHarmony and many others.Nigerian scamers took them over.

Now...I would think you would like EHarmony...it says right in their rules that in order to participate 1). you can't be married more then twice 2).you must be legally divorced, not seperated... and 3). you can only participate if you are straight.

Even says that 90 people (on average) a day get married. And they provide gift certificates if asked. ;)

Yes Shadow,it was true with eHarmony.Even Neil C.Warren not allowed legally divorced people there according to Christian rules.I heard the story that this so-called family value Neil C.Warren went in Devil's way.Gays offered him $ to run their dating sites using his web.He started accept divorcees and people of other beliefs and atheists.Plus there were cases as Nigerian scamed duped victims by giving their fraudulent images.Neil loved money rather his so-called family values.

Same-sex couplesInitially eHarmony did not offer same-sex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_relationship) matches, but now it does through its separate service, Compatible Partners (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatible_Partners).[24] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-usatoday-23) Warren originally explained that he had done extensive research on heterosexual marriage but does not know enough about homosexual relationships to do same-sex match-making which "calls for some very careful thinking. Very careful research."[24] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-usatoday-23) He also noted that eHarmony promotes heterosexual marriage, adding that same-sex marriage is illegal in most states, "We don't really want to participate in something that's illegal."[24] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-usatoday-23) In a separate interview, Warren went into more detail on his own views, noting that "cities like San Francisco, Chicago or New York... they could shut [eHarmony] down so fast. We don't want to make enemies out of them. But at the same time, I take a real strong stand against same-sex marriage, anywhere that I can comment on it."[25] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-24)
eHarmony's lack of same-sex matching options prompted lawsuits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawsuit) claiming that eHarmony violated laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_orientation).[26] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-25) As part of the settlement of a New Jersey case,[27] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-foxnews-26) eHarmony launched a partner website called Compatible Partners (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatible_Partners) providing same-sex match-making "for serious couples"[28] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-27)[29] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-28) Theodore B. Olson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_B._Olson), an attorney for eHarmony, said that even though the company believed the complaint was "an unfair characterization of our business," it chose to settle because of the unpredictable nature of litigation.[30] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-29) In 2010, eHarmony settled a separate class-action lawsuit filed in California that alleged illegal discrimination based on sexual orientation. The company, which did not admit wrongdoing, agreed to allow access to both its gay and straight dating sites with a single subscription, to display its gay dating services (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dating_services) more prominently and to establish a settlement fund to pay people who can show they were harmed by the company's policies.[31] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-30)[32] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-31)
Compatible Partners has attracted over 200,000 registrants.[33] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-32) Garcia also notes that, like, eHarmony, Compatible Partners (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatible_Partners) attracts high-quality customers: "Because of the price tag and the emphasis on long-term relationships...Compatible Partners' users are seen as quite desirable." [34] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EHarmony#cite_note-33)

He was sued.I read it.Neil C.Warren had his constitutional rights to refuse gays do to his beliefs in God,no matter what those queers wanted of him through courts. It is still freedom in America. The thing was GLBT activists showed him fat sum of $ that he will allow them to run their dating place on his web.He had a total freedom to refuse them and reject their money. He loved money rather than God and God's life values.Love of money is a root of all evils. So Warren defecated his once so-called Christian dating site into a run down toilet where gays, legal adulterers(divorced)non-Christians,and scamers do their business.Neil Warren is a hypocrite. That's sad.:(

I met Gregory (who resembles Rock Hudson only he's straight.....clarifying for the "Gay topic addicts") anyway I met Gregory on a Foot Fetish photo Shoot, I had wanted to take some excellent pictures as a surprize for Prince Clint and the wives......well Gregory normally only shoots photos of bad car accidents and murder scenes for the police. But as luck would have it he was hard up for money and working in a seedy studio just off a back alley for the food porn industry.

I was really nervous n shy at first but when Gregory put on mood music I knew somehow we were gonna be working together a long time.....I only hope Luna Tick or Maylyn don't try to steal him.......

Met my wife in law school on orientation day. She had hair down to her legs then and at one point in the library the sun shone through her hair and she looked amazing. And 8 yrs younger than me! She was walking past me a few hours later and I stopped talking to a guy I had met and introduced myself. She thought I was boring and I thought she was boring after a few minutes of conversation. Luckily, she liked the guy I was talking to and I got to hang around. Within a week we were seeing each other. We've been married since 1993.

Not too strange, I guess, but I'm glad I can be a forward S.O.B. sometimes.

She learned about the machismo of russian men and that she doesn't need to be subject to it. She freed herself and has moved on with her life. Poor lemon is still caged up in his own mind and beliefs. He still thinks women should be subservient to men. It's the culture that's ingrained in him.

I met a girl once during studying for a final in my senior year of college. I had to fulfill a science requirement so I took an astronomy course in my final semester. It was a freshman level course and pure regurgitation for the final (at keast you learned stuff in the labs). My buddy and I studied in our dorm for half an hour and then got bored. We went to a bar, bought a pticher of Guiness, and broke out our notebooks to study. Other students were kinda dumbstruck by our study habits, but we met many girls that night, including one I dated for a short time.

I got an A- for the class.

Supposedly this story is true.

My mom met my dad when they were both 17 and he jumped into backseat of a car through the window while running from the police and landed right in my mom's lap.
Everyone swears this shit really happened, who knows. But it's a funny story.

BTW they've been married for 42 years.
