0The first thing that comes to libs' mind when balancing the subject of the deficit is discussed is the military.

Fact... the entire DoD budget including the 2 wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for FY2010 was 663 billion dollars.

Fact... the deficit is 1.5 trillion.

Fact... the DoD budget makes up for 18% of the entire budget...

Fact... entitlements make up for 41% of the budget.....

Even if you shuttered the entire DoD you would still have a deficit of over 700 billion dollars.

The 900 pound gorilla in the room that no one seems to be talking about is OBAMACARE. That one budget item will cost taxpayers over 2 trillion dollars... repeal it... also repeal the ineffective stimulus. Both of those should help reduce the deficit enormously
