U.S. Border Patrol agents found a rocket launcher, assault rifles and explosives in a bag along the Rio Grande river in Texas, the agency said on Wednesday, suggesting a link to Mexico's drug wars. Agents discovered the weapons on Tuesday on a quiet stretch of the Rio Grande near Fronton, a small community about 210 miles south of San Antonio.

Good to see there's no reason to worry about that porous border...

Yep, no need to close the border. That's just crazy talk.

I'm afraid you're going to be right about that one of these days.

Your comment makes me think you misunderstand which direction these weapons were headed.

Mexican officials have said the smuggling is driven by heavy demand for drugs among Americans and the bloodshed fueled by weapons brought across the border from the United States.

Why does his comment lead you to believe that? A porous border can leak both ways, and that's all he said.

Um, does it matter which way the illegal weapons are leaking through the border. Also, if you can get a rocket launcher through the border going one way, the other is not so much harder.

Of course it matters, if they caught the weapons on our side of the border, before crossing it. I'm not saying there isn't a porous border, only that in this story, porosity wasn't the issue.
