"A Sad Obituary"

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
-Knowing when to come out of the rain;
-Why the early bird gets the worm;
-Life isn't always fair;
-and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies ( don't spend more than you make ), and reliable strategies ( adults, not children are in charge ). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Beginning with reports of a 6-year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened the condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do, in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became less spiritual, and more like a business; and criminals received better treatment then their victims.

Common sense was barely gaining it's equilibrium when it was disclosed that with unemployment hovering around 9%, the stock market dropping, and inflation looming boldly in the background, our yearly expenditure for illegal aliens was 330 BIllion Dollars of tax payer money.

Common Sense took a beating when you could no longer defend yourself from an assailant in your own home, but the assailant could sue you for assualt ( restraining with unnecessary force ).

Common Sense didn't see what was coming next, as he was blindsided by the fact that Al Gore was given a Nobel Prize for his efforts on Global Warming, and then discovered that his contentions were adamently disputed by many of the most respected scientists on the Earths climate cycles. ( BTW Gore is unavailable for comment )

Common Sense suffered one of it's most severe blows when the United States Congress voted themselves a raise while the Country was on the verge of economic collapse, during which time social security cola increases were suspended for 2 years.

Common Sense was then dealt another shattering punch in the gut, while once again Congress voted themselves a "Cadillac" health care package for LIFE. Then passed a health care bill for the citizenry without knowing what was in it. ( we'll find out after "we" pass it..................many months later we still don't know whats in it )

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. So she spilled a portion on her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. ( 3 million )

But the most renound insult to everything Common Sense stood for since the inception of our great Republic, was that you could no longer display, and also encouraged not to vocalize "Merry Christmas". Because "we" didn't want to insult the muslims and atheists. ( GOD forbid )....................................or was it Allah?..........................or was it NOTHING?

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, by his daughter Responsibility, and by his son Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
-I know my rights;
-I want it now;
-Someone else is to blame;
-I'm a victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on.
If not, join the majority and do nothing.
