I was looking through my local news and I'm ashamed to say that Darby is near me.

Not only did people from out of town come looking for free money, but the fact is there hasnt really been much damage done by the hurricane. The idea that there should be handouts of any kind for disaster relief is absurd.

From the article:

About 600 to 700 people lined up from the office, located at Mill and Main streets, all the way to the intersection of Main and Ninth streets, arriving as early as 6:30 a.m., Police Chief Bob Smythe said.

Many of the residents were from outside of Darby, Smythe said, causing Darby officials to call in extra police from neighboring communities. He said the multitudes of people came out partially due to a rumor that people could come here to pick up vouchers for free money.

the problem was the failure to perform crowd/line control?

WTF?

The problem was entitlement-mentality run amok.
