So this is part of Obama's "We Can't Wait" jobs program?

How about "We Can't Wait" until November 2012 to fire Obama?

President Barack Obama's 'We Can't Wait' jobs plan has found its next target — naming Virginia's Fort Monroe as a national park, The Virginian-Pilot reported. (http://hamptonroads.com/2011/10/white-house-decides-making-fort-monroe-national-monument) Naming the park is expected to draw tourists to the site — and create an undetermined number of jobs in the coming years.

The White House acknowledges that passing the executive orders are no substitute for passing the American Jobs Act, but the initiatives Obama is acting on are often so small as not to warrant any attention at all. Previous actions were devoted to limiting prescription drug shortages and creating an online portal for businesses to access government services (http://www.businessinsider.com/to-create-jobs-obama-orders-someone-to-make-a-website-2011-10) — all in the name of jobs.

'We Can't Walt' is Obama's response to Congress' refusal to pass his American Jobs Act, and is designed to show him as working to solve the problems facing Americans while Congress sits on the sidelines. But it is hard to see how naming a national park will help Obama convey that message

How about some details as to why this park was named a national park rather than just a link and a "fire Obama" What are the criteria for a park to be declared a national park. All things I would like to know.

I thought a smart middle of the roader like you could easily post that info if it was so important to you

Oh well, here is more, bit that this latest Obama idea will create jobs anytime soon. Or help the Parks budget which like all other federal departments, is in the red

snip

Fort Monroe's most historic chapter came during the Civil War, when it remained a bastion of federal power even after Virginia seceded. Early in the conflict, three escaped slaves reached the fort and asked for the Union Army's protection. The commanding general's decision not to send the men back to their Confederate owners set the stage for a mass migration of slaves to Fort Monroe and helped bring about the Emancipation Proclamation.

It will be a few months until the public sees evidence of the National Park Service at the 565-acre post. Although ceremonially transferred to Virginia on Sept. 15, the property had not yet legally reverted to the state - a key detail in meeting the provisions of the Antiquities Act, which permits the president to designate existing federal land as a national monument.

Fort Monroe won't be only a national park, though. If the president follows the blueprint of the pending legislation, the park service would manage slightly more than half of the property, including the north beach area and about 90 acres inside and around the moated stone fortress. The Fort Monroe Authority, a state entity, would handle the rest - including limited new development in certain areas.

RSR , I'm not an Obama supporter and you know it, and what's more I defended you in public each time one of those assholes attacked you. Why you're being an asshole to me in return is beyond belief.

You are the one who said I "hate" - where is the hate CH? I have went after Obama on what he has said, his policies, and his actions.

Is that what you consider "hate"?

You wanted to know the reason for this latest jobs creator and I provided it. It is as lame as all the other ideas Obama has come up with
