Oh brother is this guy getting worried about his re-election chances

http://www.rushimg.com/cimages//media/obamaparodies/obamateddyroosevelt/908155-1-eng-GB/ObamaTeddyRoosevelt.jpg

President Barack Obama travels to Osawatomie, Kansas on Monday (http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-is-about-to-double-down-on-class-warfare-and-echo-a-republican-president-at-the-same-time-2011-12) to outline his vision for America — and with it, comes the most revealing glimpse yet at his reelection strategy. Gone is the message of hope and change — instead Obama is reaching 100 years back in time for a message that will resonate with the American people.

The new theme: "everyone engages in fair play, everyone does their fair share, and everyone gets a fair shot."
In a word: Fairness.

It's a throwback to President Theodore Roosevelt, who offered the same vision for America in Osawatomie back in 1910 as he was preparing to launch another bid for the White House in 1912. His message in that speech, (http://www.businessinsider.com/check-out-teddy-roosevelts-amazing-1912-speech-that-proves-that-nothing-ever-changes-in-politics-2011-12#) which he termed "New Nationalism," became the central focus of his presidential campaign on the ticket of the Progressive (Bull Moose) Party.

Asked whether Obama's Tuesday speech will lay the intellectual foundation for his reelection campaign, Obama spokesman Josh Earnest did not respond, but offered cagily that the new message "is a pretty succinct version of the president's vision for America."

and the Gaffer in Chief did it again

He greets the folks of Texas but he is in Kansas

Must have got all those 57 states mixed up

Obama Greets 'State of Texas' in Kansas (http://www.nowpublic.com/environment/spring-snowstorm-hits-kansas?lc=int_mb_1001)

When taking the stage to deliver a campaign speech (http://www.nowpublic.com/politics/edwards-nixes-campaign-stops-speech?lc=int_mb_1001), US President Barack Obama told the crowd, "It is great to be back in the state of Texas". However, Obama was in Osawatomie, Kansas. He quickly recovered, though,

You find this sort of thing with touring bands: life on a bus makes one city seem very much like another when all you see is bus-green room-stage-hotel (http://www.nowpublic.com/culture/did-lady-gaga-bypass-red-carpet?lc=int_mb_1001). Social Distortion once did that in Toronto. The Spice Girls have done it as well. Did you ever think you'd see US President Barack Obama, Social D frontman Mike Ness, and Ginger Spice Gerri Halliwell in the same sentence?

You're welcome. You can get to the actual content of Obama's Kansas speech below, as well as checking out the Texas gaffe video.

Teddy was very, very good, except when he was horrible.

Depends on which Teddy one likes.

Teddy Roosevelt was one to put America first, unlike the cow tow president we have today. Teddy Roosevelt fought in the Spanish American War, pushed to have us build the Panama Canal (which was American soil until the 1990s) and wanted a strong navy....

In 1905, he issued a corollary to the Monroe Doctrine which allows the United States to "exercise international policy power" so they can intervene and keep smaller countries on their feet.

Unlike the current president who is nothing at all like Teddy Roosevelt.

Yep, well said. With the big hint I gave, one would think that those who didn't know his strengths and weaknesses would have looked. I'm surprised at Avatar, not looking beyond what he's read recently, no doubt.

Obama is nothing but a Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.'

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there!.

Teddy Roosevelt
- Suffered from asthma as a child and over came it with his father's encouragement
- Lost both his mother and his first wife on the same day
- New York State Assemblyman
- Retired from politics for a while, moved out west and led the life of a cowboy
- Served on the US Civil Service Commission
- Served as New York City Police Commissioner
- Assistant Secretary of the Navy
- Left that post and became the leader of the Rough Riders during the Spanish American War and won the Medal of Honor
- Governor of New York
- Vice President of the United States
- Became president after McKinley was assassinated in 1901. Served as president until 1909
- Won the Nobel Prize for negotiating an end to the Russo-Japanese War
- Force behind the completion of the Panama Canal
- Big Game Hunter
- Refused to shoot a bear cub during a hunting expedition. This was the impetus for the creation of the "Teddy Bear", a children's toy that has been popular ever since
- Considered by many to be the greatest American President. His likeness is carved on the side of Mount Rushmore.
- Force behind the creation of the Great White Fleet as part of his policy to strengthen the United States Navy
- In 1905, he issued a corollary to the Monroe Doctrine which allows the United States to "exercise international policy power" so they can intervene and keep smaller countries on their feet
- Known for trust busting of large corporations
- Force behind the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906

Barack Obama
- Community Organizer
- Spent most of his time campaigning for the Presidency while serving as Senator from Illinois
- Won the Nobel Peace Prize for being elected president (it must be that the standard for winning this prize must have been lowered since Theodore Roosevelt's day)

Yes, one can see when the two are compared side by side that Obama is definitely like Theodore Roosevelt......

Charles Krauthammer gave the best analysis of Obama's speech and sums up what it takes to get the far left base fired up
