Presidential hopeful and former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson is now officially running for president as a Libertarian.
Within the last hour, he official announced the switch from the Republican Party.
Johnson, who made the announcement Wednesday in Santa Fe, said it was a difficult yet easy decision.
The former two-term governor said he recognizes that his platform generally leaned more toward Libertarian beliefs.
Johnson also cited issues with the Republican Party.
