Rick Perry to end presidential campaign
BLUFFTON, S.C. -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to announce an end to his presidential campaign Thursday, Yahoo News has confirmed.

The announcement was first reported by CNN.

Perry will make the announcement at a press conference in Charleston, South Carolina at 11 a.m. and will endorse former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Politico reports.

Perry, who was at the top of the polls when he first announced his candidacy last summer, placed a disappointing fifth in the Iowa caucuses and sixth in the New Hampshire primaries with less than one percent of the vote.

South Carolina Republicans will vote in the state's primaries on Saturday.

It depends on how much damage the interview with Gingrich's ex-wife does once it airs tonight. In my opinion, it won't sink him because we already know how Gingrich screwed up in the past. That is, unless she has something earth shattering to reveal. So far all I've heard is that Gingrich asked to have an "open" marriage to which she refused. So what.

Now, I said all that to get to this point: If Gingrich is able to stay in the race, it will be Santorum who exists next. If Gingrich's bitter ex-wife gains traction, Gingrich will go next.

They media's choosing the GOP candidate this time just as it din in 2008. People who don't learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.
