You're an NBA fan. Dissatisfied with the typical online outlets, you're coming to an NBA-obsessive blog on a Monday to read more than what the more orthodox NBA media outlets are giving you. You search and you scour for takes and columns and tweets and video and you'll do it all again come Tuesday morning. Tell me, have you ever read a Jason Whitlock column on the NBA? Do you even think to go to him when NBA news breaks?
Jason Whitlock knows this. He's also an unfunny boor with a massive ego, and the combination of those factors plus his NBA irrelevancy leads to Twitter comments like this (https://twitter.com/#%21/WhitlockJason/status/168180609242497025), in the wake of Jeremy Lin's brilliant 38-point performance (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski_jeremy_lin_knicks_lakers_021112) against the Lakers on Friday night:

Some lucky lady in NYC is gonna feel a couple inches of pain tonight.

Seriously? Where have you been the last 15 years?

Mostly in Arkansas where it's still okay to make black jokes. :laugh2:

Floyd Mayweather Hits Jeremy Lin On Race

Monday, February 13, 2012 10:31 pm

Floyd Mayweather is not going all Lin.

The outspoken boxer who once told rival Manny Pacquiao, a Filipino, to"make some sushi rolls and cook some rice" (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/global-filipino/09/07/10/fil-am-group-calls-censure-vs-mayweather) has retained the title of heavyweight champion of insensitivity by claiming New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is getting national attention for his race rather than his game.
"Jeremy Lin is a good player," Mayweather tweeted Monday (https://twitter.com/#%21/FloydMayweather/status/169170084739289089), "but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise."
Black players outscore Kobe Bryant every night? Black players who went undrafted rack up at least 20 points and seven assists in each of their first four career starts? Black players go from D-League DNPs to leading the Knicks to five straight wins?

Gunny

My comment is in the title of the thread...

I was an Air Force brat. Lived on a lot of military bases when I wasn't shoveled off to my grnadparents'. The first racism I ever expereinced was in 1970 Washington DC, and it was black racism against whites. Needless to say, being a Gunny starts out early in life and I quickly re-established the peching order in Capitol Heights, MD. Picking on the little brother is a pleasure I reserve only to myself.

No one else was allowed.
