Does anyone have a good recipe for salsbury steak? It cannot have lipton onion soup mix,my husband doesn't like it and I don't like mushrooms. All the recipes on allrecipes have one or the other.

Just leave the mushrooms out I suppose if they bother you

This one is made with campbells french onion soup instead of the lipton dry soup mix.

I hear ya:laugh: Encor makes frozen ones that are pretty good no mushroms or onions that you can taste. It's pretty good, but i thought I could find something similar to their recipe. I'm fine with the onions, but the husband hates them. Drives me up the wall. I would love to put them in so much more food thatI cook. I usually add them to my food after i get my plate.

Or Chicken Fried Steak. A bit easier to make I think as well. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/chicken-fried-steak-recipe/index.html

I even omit the egg part which saves a step.

You're gonna need a tax return. Have you seen the price of meat lately? Oh wait...apparently you have...never mind

You ain't kiddin! It's outrageous. I tend to stand in the grocery store and bitch to myself about the price of everything. I buy a lot of the same stuff every week and see the prices go up each week. Meat and coffee are through the roof right now. We have been eating a lot of breakfast for dinner meals.:coffee: Getting old tho.

Breakfast for dinner sounds good to me. I made Huevos Ranceros the other night myself. Yep...I can relate to groceries being sky high. I almost croaked when I had to pay $1.39 for a can of beets...and $14.00 for carne asada meat. Crazy.
