The slippery slope is quickly changing into a steep incline.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/h/eric_h_holder_jr/index.html?inline=nyt-per) asserted on Monday that it is lawful for the government to kill American citizens if officials deem them to be operational leaders of Al Qaeda who are planning attacks on the United States and if capturing them alive is not feasible.

This is one I whole-heartedly disagree with regardless of national security concerns. Considering that the National Defense Authorization Act now defines the U.S. as a battlefield, you can see clearly where this is going. The real question I have is how can people in this Administration or the Republican party go along with this? Can't they see that this clearly undermines the entire idea on which this country was founded? Liberty and Freedom are slowly being driven from this land in the name of security and there are too many people in this country that are in full support of it.

And Holder asserts that this is judicial process which is an entirely different animal than due process and stated in the Bill of Rights. Disturbing.
