Not anyone in particular, just where the GOP is going as a whole. A long but intriguing read.

The hard left does a good job purging DINOs from the Democrat party. Independent thought is not tolerated on the left. Just ask Joe Lieberman. At least the GOP has figured out that tolerating moderates is the price for not being shut out in the North East.

Huntsman may very well be right. There's been a good amount of disenchantment with the GOP by conservatives and it really came to light after Bush's second term with the rise of the Tea Party which has targeted establishment Republicans and Democrats alike. One could also argue that this disenchantment has manifested itself with the lack of clear enthusiasm for any of the Republican presidential candidates. Conservative voters are lining up behind Romney not because they love him but because he's a better alternative to a second term for Obama.

In any case, Huntsman doesn't have any chance of real success being an Independent. He lacks the necessary charisma to inspire people to turn away from what they know and are comfortable with.
