I'm proposing getting rid of the border patrol, and replacing them with national guard units who are FAR better trained at securing a perimeter than the border patrol is.

That ought to keep them in. You could also offer refreshments at the border until election day so they don't leave.

I would propose border patrol at strategic points and aerial drones all along the border. National guard in reserve to respond to any large incursions. It's the logical thing to do, so it won't happen. The libs need their unregistered voters block.

I believe that unarmed drones are in fact being deployed along the border to aid in spotting illegal crossings. A great idea IMO because obviously even if we deployed the entire national guard population of all 50 states we couldn't watch every inch of the border simultaneously.

The only foolproof way to keep illegals out of the country is to make it illegal to employ them. No jobs = no illegals.
Trouble is, the big employers can afford lawyers and bribes to keep themselves in business. Shut down employers who break the laws (as opposed to slapping them on the wrist) and you will stop illegal immigration.

I think you're wrong on that one Gab. I believe most illegals actually enter the country via underground tunnels; not vehicles.

And yes, going after employers is one of many logical steps that needs to be taken; BUT most of the cases of people being caught here illegally they have good documents to work. Fake social security cards or what have you........... There is only so much checking an employer can do. Implement The Real ID Act IMMEDIATELY. But of course Obama and his cronies have been delaying that for 6 years now.
