If you're from NC you may well be familiar with the Jambas ranch zoo. in fayetteville ..though describing it as a ranch or a zoo is being more than liberal IMO.
By way of example i would like to show y'all "Ben" the bear. Ben is a declawed brown bear, who lives in a baron cage with a concert floor, you need only watch this short clip to see just how despondent he is, and how unsatisfactory his living conditions are.
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aj1FAR3NuoY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
The owner of the zoo has said he's willing to sell ben, but only for a five figure sum, and i don't think anyone wants to see this man profit for this clear abuse.
Ofcourse Ben is not the only animal being mistreated however, in the past 6 years over 30 suits have been brought against the "zoo" like 'unsanitary living conditions, 'failure to supply sufficient food', 'failure to supply portable water', 'failure to provide adequate veterinary care' and so forth.
So i would ask y'all take 2 minutes and click this link - http://ncvaw.org/free-ben-the-bear/
It leads to a template message to the Cumberland County Commissioners and urges them to take action. The message is already written, however, you may of course edit it as you please. Thanks for your time ^,^
