Angulimala means "finger necklace". Angulimala acquired that name for cutting off the fingers of his enemies and wearing them around his neck. He was a robber and murderer of 1000 people, yet he still had the great karma to meet the Buddha, study with him and attain great realization.

Milarepa is one of the greatest Buddhist yogi's and poets. He studied black magic under a sorceror in order to seek revenge on his aunt and uncle who stole his families wealth and enslaved them.

Milarepa sent a giant hailstorm to the village which killed 35 people, then he sent another hailstorm to destroy their crops resulting in further death and suffering.

Milarepa later repented, he met his teacher, Marpa and Marpa made Milarepa undergo many deeds designed to help him purify his negative karma.
