Obituary: Ernest Borgnine
Oscar-winning actor Ernest Borgnine, whose career spanned more than 60 years, has died, his spokesman has said.

He died of renal failure in a Los Angeles hospital with his family by his side, his spokesman Harry Flynn told the Associated Press.

Mr Borgnine, who was 95 years old, continued acting until recently with a role in the hospital drama ER in 2009.

He won an Oscar in 1955 for his role in the film Marty.

Borgnine was also known for his roles in The Wild Bunch and The Poseidon Adventure.

His TV series McHale's Navy was also a major success in the United States.

He was a great actor, played all his roles well. I loved him in McHale's Navy and The Wild Bunch !-Tyr

Yep, Jan Micheal Vincent really ffed up his career with drugs and booze. Airwolf didnt stay on long .
95 is a good long life. I settle for it in a heart beat! Borgnine was a good actor. Played quite a few bad guy roles really well too.-Tyr

MacHale's Navy, and America have lost another Classic.

Anyone remember him in "From Here to Eternity"?

He was talking about Frank Sinatra in that movie, just last week.

Rest in Peace Skipper!

Airwolf was a great show. Borgnine always played his roles very well. He made you hate him as the azzhat bully Sergeant in the movie, From Here to Eternity, when he got knifed in that movie it was pure delight ! -Tyr

Airwolf, fine drama in the 80's but tends toward comedy in the 2010s. How many times can you shoot down the same Mig?
