Six London Olympics missile defense sites set up
7 days ago by LBSports
The U.K. military announced in April that they were setting up rooftop missiles in the London area to protect the Summer Games, and they confirmed this week that they have set up a few sites.
MSNBC reports that six missile defense sites have been set up, two of which will be on top of apartment blocks. The development has been met with opposition from residents who fear they will be in the line of fire.
The Ministry of Defense is attempting to assuage those fears, telling MSNBC in an email that the "systems are proposed as an absolute last resort option, as part of a much broader, layered air security plan aimed at protecting all of those involved in the Olympics, including local residents."
Some activists are attempting to get an injunction that will block the missile placement and deployment, but the Ministry of Defense is confident it will prevail.
Missiles won't be the only form of defense employed by the military during the Olympics. They reportedly will also have a Royal Navy helicopter carrier in the River Thames, Typhoon jets, and Puma helicopters.
Even though protesters are concerned about having missiles on the top of their living quarters (and let's be real, who wouldn't be freaked out about that?), these security measures are necessary to protect the thousands of athletes and millions of spectators expected to attend the Games later this month
Guess which group is most likely to be expected to possibly launch an attack against the London Olympics!!??
Here is a hint, it isnt Christian , Hindu or Buddhist.--Tyr
