http://blog.heritage.org/2012/07/16/morning-bell-obama-tells-entrepreneurs-you-didnt-build-your-business/

That sound you hear is silence—as millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs were left speechless this weekend from President Obama’s latest insult.

The slap in the face to hard-working Americans conveyed Obama’s belief that it takes a village—a heavily subsidized village—to create that venture you’re profiting from:

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2012/jul/15/picketvideo-obama-if-youve-got-business-you-didnt-/)
Obama pushed his policy goals of infrastructure (aka stimulus) spending and “government research” as part of a collectivist utopia “doing things together.” It’s simply stunning that he would tell Americans, “If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that.”

After all, could individuals be resourceful and hard-working enough to create whole new enterprises? Obama said:

Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.
It is this view of successful businesses—essentially, “You owe us”—that drives Obama’s continued attacks on the country’s job creators in the form of tax hikes and regulations.

It’s a tough time to be a business owner and entrepreneur in America. Surveys show small business owners are struggling (http://www.nfib.com/research-foundation/surveys/small-business-economic-trends?utm_campaign=SBET&utm_source=Releases&utm_medium=Releases), and they are not expanding or hiring because of tax and regulatory uncertainty. Federal agencies, from Health and Human Services to the Environmental Protection Agency, are regulating them to death. And just last week, President Obama announced his latest economic plan was to hit job creators with a tax increase.

The President’s plan to raise taxes on earnings above $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers) would hit 1.2 million small-business employers who pay their taxes through the individual income tax, known as flow-through businesses (http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2012/07/obama-s-taxmageddon-tax-increase-would-hurt-job-creation). These businesses that are creating jobs earn almost all—91 percent—of the income earned by flow-through employer-businesses.

The new tax increase could be equivalent to one employee per small business. According to calculations by The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis, the average American with $250,000 or more in income can expect an average $24,888 tax increase (http://blog.heritage.org/2012/07/13/obamas-small-business-tax-could-average-25000/) next year under Obama’s proposed policies. That $24,888 figure is often enough for a salary. So the President could be putting about 1.2 million jobs—perhaps even more—at risk with this tax hike.

Hitting private job creators while advocating more stimulus spending (http://blog.heritage.org/2012/06/08/obamas-summer-jobs-rerun/) and government jobs. That’s the President’s plan for the economy.

Meanwhile, businesses large and small suffer from the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world (http://blog.heritage.org/2012/03/30/no-fooling-u-s-now-has-highest-corporate-tax-rate-in-the-world/). This has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment and has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations, meaning fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.

If the U.S. is to see economic recovery, we must encourage entrepreneurship (http://blog.heritage.org/2012/06/25/what-facebook-and-five-guys-have-in-common/). Stopping the biggest tax increase in American history, Taxmageddon (http://www.heritage.org/issues/taxes/taxmageddon), would be a good place to start. It’s a $494 billion tax hike set to hit on January 1, when a number of tax policies expire and just a few of Obamacare’s new taxes kick in.

Businesses are already hesitating on hiring decisions because of the impending effects of these taxes.

Democratic leaders are demanding tax hikes, however, and threatening to allow Taxmageddon (http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/democrats-threaten-gop-with-fiscal-cliff-as-tax-fight-rages-on/2012/07/15/gJQAvybLnW_story.html?wpmk=MK0000203) for the sake of politics—despite warnings that it would send the U.S. back into recession.

Real recovery will take even more than saving job creators from punishing taxes and regulations. It requires leadership that appreciates and values the long hours that America’s business builders put in and the personal sacrifices they make for their dreams. It will take leaders who say, “If you’ve got a business—you built that.

And we want more of that in America.”

HE JUST PREACHED HARD SOCIALISM toned down in an attempt to disguise its true nature.. Give him another term and we'll see radical and hard communism coming from him! And the misery it will cause will make what he has done so far look like a walk in the park in comparison! Remember , "after the election I'll be able to be more flexible comrade."--Tyr

That speech is just stunning. Anyone who has a small business has to be standing there with their mouth hanging open. This is not just socialist, this is downright fascist. To think he would say this out loud. I think we have a lot to worry about even before Nov. El Duce has declared himself openly here.

If I didn't pay attention to who Obama really is...this speech would actually shock me.

As a small business owner who is conservative and pays attention...it doesn't.

But I am praying...PRAYING that this does not get swept under the rug and it gets replayed over and over and over and over until the election.

Though knowing the MSM... it won't.

President Pig Fucker was NOT kidding when he said he wanted to "fundamentally" transform this country.

He disgusts me.

I am still speechless..........

Does anyone else remember how he butted heads with the Chamber of Commerce? Well, their concerns have certainly been validated now.

'And what do you know?': Business leaders hit back at Obama after he says the wealthy AREN'T responsible for their own success

America's leading small business association has slammed Barack Obama for showing 'an utter lack of understanding' of the country's entrepreneurs when he told them: 'If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.'

In a hard-hitting statement to Mail Online, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) president Dan Danne said: 'What a disappointment to hear President Obama's revealing comments challenging the significance of America's entrepreneurs.

Mr Danne added: 'His unfortunate remarks over the weekend show an utter lack of understanding and appreciation for the people who take a huge personal risk and work endless hours to start a business and create jobs.'

President Obama said in a speech at the weekend that governments and not individuals create jobs, telling entrepreneurs: 'If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.'

He added: 'You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.'

As an entrepreneur who has owned two businesses over the course of my life, I take great exception to this stance. I was successful because I am indeed smart!!!

I was planning on using this link for the 'poitical consultant thread', however it seems to have a bigger point to be made here:

‘They’re Demoralized as Hell!’ (http://theothermccain.com/2012/07/15/theyre-demoralized-as-hell/)Posted on | July 15, 2012 | 27 Comments and 54 Reactions

Jammie Wearing Fools recently pointed out (http://www.jammiewf.com/2012/nervous-times-at-obama-hq-i-think-they-should-be-freaked-out/) that the June fundraising numbers inspired a sense of panic at Obama HQ, with one anonymous Democrat saying (http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/237475-new-urgency-within-anxious-team-obama), “If people are freaked out, I think they should be freaked out.” And you can expect the Democrat freakout to intensify next Friday when we get the official FEC reports for June.

Why? Because, as one Republican source mentioned to me last week, while Team Obama admitted they got out-raised by $35 million in June, they didn’t report their cash-on-hand total. Hint, hint.

What my GOP source was suggesting was that the Obama campaign’s burn rate is already so high — their staff overhead is enormous, and they’ve been pouring on the attack ads in battleground states — that they’ve substantially depleted the cash advantage they enjoyed in May, when they ended the month with more than $100 million cash on hand (compared to a mere $17 million for Romney, as I’ve previously explained (http://theothermccain.com/2012/07/10/permit-me-to-remind-you-obama-has-more-campaign-cash-than-mitt/)). The Campaign to Re-Elect the SCOAMF (https://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=stuttering+clusterfuck+miserable+failure&oq=stuttering+clusterfuck+miserable+failure&gs_l=hp.3...2076.16052.1.16277.40.37.0.2.2.3.655.7 706.10j12j7j5j1j2.37.0...0.0...1c.iXyifWYHTSo&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=34595c72e6a38609&biw=972&bih=537) had counted on that financial cushion as their ace in the hole. If nothing else worked, they could bury Romney in attack ads down the home stretch in October, but it’s only July and if the Obama campaign is already burning through that cash at an unsustaintable pace . . .

Well, there’s a good reason they’re “freaked out,” you see.

If the polls start shifting toward Romney now, the scenes inside Obama HQ in Chicago will be Hitler-in-the-bunker Downfall parody stuff.

Furthermore, with indications the economy is getting worse instead of better, the Obama campaign’s increasingly desperate attempt to smear Romney as a latter-day robber baron (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/14/obama-ad-firms-slams-romn_n_1673112.html) shows that they’ve switched their message from “Hope and Change” to “Fear and Loathing.”

Obama has already “shot his wad,” as Jennifer Rubin puts it (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/post/july-panic-for-obama--for-good-reason/2012/07/15/gJQARQFXmW_blog.html), and the incessant rants about Bain Capital and outsourcing don’t seem to have moved the polls significantly in Obama’s direction. Democrats appear to be apporaching that point at which Pete Da Tech Guy (http://datechguyblog.com/) likes to invoke the famous words of General Sheridan yelled to his cavalry: “Ride right through them — they’re demoralized as hell!”

...

Uh . . . one slight problem there, Chief: Centreville isn’t exactly the kind of Rust Belt blue-collar town where you’ll score a lot of political points trashing “the wealthiest Americans.”

Badmouthing rich people won’t get you too far in Fairfax County, which just happens to be the third richest county in America (http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mdg45gkhk/fairfax-county-virginia/#gallerycontent), with a median annual household income of $105,416 (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/51/51059.html).

One other problem, Chief: Insofar as the “middle-class families” in Fairfax County have a problem, they blame your policies (http://spectator.org/archives/2012/07/16/battleground-virginia):

Tami Hurley stood beside Union Mill Road waving a sign in the hot mid-summer sun Saturday afternoon, awaiting President Obama’s arrival at Centreville High School. She was not alone. The Fairfax County businesswoman was one of more than 200 protesters who responded to the announcement of an “emergency rally” sent out by the Northern Virginia Tea Party. On her American flag T-shirt, Hurley displayed a pin that concisely summarized her situation in the Obama era: “Officially Screwed: Small Business Owner.” She explained that her family runs a heating and air-conditioning business that employs 14 people, a business that the Democrat’s administration seems determined to destroy.

“They’re going to increase all of our prices,” Hurley said, explaining that regulations enacted recently by the Environmental Protection Agency mandated a 40 percent decrease in the manufacture of R22, a refrigerant commonly used in air-conditioning systems. “Our price doubled in January, and we have to pass that along to our customers.”

The EPA’s mandate is part of Obama’s environmental agenda, enforcing an international anti-global-warming treaty called the Montreal Protocol. Hurley sees the president pushing a different sort of “climate change,” creating a climate that is hostile to free enterprise. “Obamacare is going to really hurt us, as well,” Hurley said, expressing a widespread concern among small business owners that the president’s health care program will impose costly mandates, decrease the quality of treatment, and require massive new taxes to fund it. Hurley pointed out that one of her young sons has epilepsy. Her son was also among the crowd of protesters who turned out Saturday in Centreville, waving a hand-lettered sign that said, “Obama = No Hope.”

Hostility to small business owners is unmistakably a matter of policy for the Obama administration, and Hurley is not deceived by the president’s rhetorical attempts to portray himself as a champion of the middle class. . . .

Note: this was written BEFORE Obama said, what he said.

No, obama says you leeched off te downtrodden to have those two businesses and you owe them ALL your money.
OK, not all to start with but believe me he intends for ALL the money to be given to the downtrodden masses , I mean to the Dem voters!

After this latest revelation does anybody now think that he has truly been attempting to help businesses and turn around the failing economy? I was correct when after his "crowning" I declared he will now be sure to make things worse. Most on that forum thought me crazy but here we are 3+ years later and I've been vindicated because we are 5+ trillion deeper in debt, with millions unemployed, millions more underemployed and a multi trillion dollar TAXCARE plan which will sink us! All by design, all deliberately planned to weaken our economy and weaken us as a nation.-Tyr

The idiot acts as if this nation was built entirely without business investments fueling the government with trillions of dollars in taxes ! In fact judging from his words he tries to give ALL that credit to his strongest supporters ,non-tax paying government leeches , leftists and other assorted rift raft. This man is a dictator in search of a mob to help him completely overthrow the nation. Should he get a second term he will believe that he has that support and look out then! Executive commandments usurping Congress could become a daily routine and even a trumped up Marshall law declared to give him supreme authority until he finishes destroying the nation.
Only a GD foooool would think him not capable of doing just that!-Tyr

This is the speech of a man who has never run his own business, quite clearly, and has no idea the sheer degree of work that goes into it. I love how "it takes a village", except has anyone noticed that he keeps treating the business owners as though they aren't really part of that village.

Okay, this is part of the statement that is bugging me, alot. Okay, if we have any small business owners on here, would you ever claim it was because you were just so smart? Yeah, I didn't think so either. I've heard people say that it's cause they put a lot of work into it, and because they knew when to risk it, but never just that they were smart. And if it is completely dependent on the American people, and the business isn't mine, Should I not be able to sue them for the loss of capital and such that I put into the business?

It seems to me, that if I am not responsible for the business's success, then I am not responsible for it's failure either, and should not be held accountable to such, according to the "logic" being presented.
