President Barack Obama will travel to Aurora, Colo., on Sunday to see victims of the movie theater shooting and families of victims, White House officials said.

Obama will not attend a vigil planned there for Sunday but will continue on to San Francisco, the officials said. He also will meet with local officials in Aurora.
In his weekly radio address, Obama called for prayer and reflection on the shooting rampage in Aurora, Colo., which claimed 12 lives. He urged Americans to embrace the families who lost loved ones in Aurora and to "let them know we will be there for them as a nation."
Twelve people were killed and 58 injured when a gunman opened fire early Friday at a midnight showing of "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises." James Eagan Holmes was arrested after the shooting and is being held in solitary confinement.

Is there any level low enough that this scum will not stoop downto use in his bid to keep power to destroy this nation's wealth and power? His visit to the families of the victims is pure election pandering and has zero credibilty as being of any true and sincere concern for those people. Were he the kind for such sincere concern for others he wouldnt be deliberately destroying the wealth and power of this nation and breaking his Oath of Office almost on a daily basis..-Tyr

After a stop in Colorado where he met with the families of those gunned down in last week's movie theater shooting, the president is flying to San Francisco Sunday.


Originally, the president had planned to arrive in the area on Monday.


Meanwhile, Romney is scheduled to attend three fundraisers in the area Sunday, including a late afternoon reception at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.


On Monday, the president is expected to leave the area in the morning to speak at an event in Reno.

He will then return to Oakland in the afternoon for three fundraisers.

Well, this premise is rather silly. The President - no matter who he is, HAS to come to the site and visit with the relatives of the victims in a deal like this. It's just protocol and the right thing to do.
