V4R and I watched Captains Courageous last night, a favorite for both of us and as usual, I ended up crying. Can a film have a better cast - John Barrymore, Spencer Tracey, John Carradine and Freddy Bartholomew?

Since you and Votes4Rinos are aficionados of classic cinema, here's a John Ford classic V4Rs may feel an affinity to:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0026529/

The Informer (1935)

In 1922, an Irish rebel informs on his friend, then feels doom closing in.

Dublin, 1922. Gypo Nolan, strong but none too bright, has been ousted from the rebel organization and is starving. When he finds that his equally destitute sweetheart Katie has been reduced to prostitution, he succumbs to temptation and betrays his former comrade Frankie to the British authorities for a 20 pound reward. In the course of one gloomy, foggy night, guilt and retribution inexorably close in...

Jeffro, I have never picked a fight with you. Your snide and vindictive comments attempting to bait V4R through me are a very low approach. He won't descend to your gutter level so you respond to my comments instead. Obvious and low as I said.

Rather typical liberal response in its complete ignorance of the facts. To help you along:

1. I'm not Jeffro. I'm the anti-Jeffro
2. I'm one of the conservatives your "man" used to rat out to Jeffro, making him an "Informer," and therefore the reason I suggested he may find an affinity to Victor McLaglen's character in the John Ford classic film.

Just because you wander about in a cloud of ignorance doesn't mean others are posting on a "gutter letter.... low..." etc. Get your facts straight before leveling those accusations.

you want to confront me Taft... fine... Do it in PM

Right now every time you try to do it in the public EYE you make yourself look small, petty and Troll-ish...

and trying to use someone else to bait me like that is childish....

you really need to stop and get a new routine....

no.... just let you keep acting the way you are... you're doing everything yourself...

like I said....you can keep it in PM

or you can just choose to ignore me....

Both are better options then the course youre pursuing....

As any person on this board Taft, I am entitled to an opinion. I form my opinions based on a person's behavior and yours has sunk to the level of troll. So go back to your little hovel under the bridge. Of course, I fully expect you will come back with something you consider incisive and witty. You will only succeed in further justifying that opinion. The thing you seem not to realize is that what you say here is hardly likely to influence me at all. You are of that little significance.

ZOMG! What're ya gonna do? No Jeffro to run crying to over here. :poke:

Maybe you can ask him to ban me from this board too.

I have never seen Captains Courageous...was it on a movie channel or do you have the video?

Speaking of tear jerkers. Got sucked into watching movies on the Hallmark channel with my daughter. This one was good...and it got me. Probably didn't help that I also wasn't feeling well. But...cute movie I thought anyway (since we are sharing) :).

Shadow, it was on Turner Classic Movies, one of the channels I always check in the evening. If you ever get a chance to see it, treat yourself. Do you find that part of the pleasure of a good movie is sometimes crying? These are what I call 'good cries' that seem to clear my emotional slate, particularly if I have been under a lot of stress. Certainly the stress has been a constant the past week and I know I am feeling better today.

I'm pretty much done with this particular thread. Said my piece.

Next chance comes up that allows me to let everyone know you snitch and backstab those who are supposed to be your allies, trust me, I will.

the only reason youre through with this is that you have once again made yourself look foolish with your childish single-mindedness.

you want to yell at me and cal me names...fine... do it it PM...

But keep your misbegotten misconceptions off the board.... Nobody is really interested in your antics.....

I usually check out TMC on the weekends...especially friday nights. Seems like they have good stuff on then. And...yes...I love a good cry while watching movies that I am emotionally involved in. I'm usually prone to get into these kind of shows (Hallmark,Lifetime) when I am feeling kinda blah. Good for days when I have no motivation to get me back on track.

I hear you about stress. If things don't change here pretty soon at work regarding so much OT...I may have to get out my big stick ;)

We've known each other for 11 years but living together for about 10. For a variety of reasons, this is the best thing, at least for now. (Long story about why that I don't want to get into.

I watched my beautiful wife take a bath late last night, dont usually do that but was stressed a bit due to having received bad news about a friend dying early yesterday morning. Thought the water was fine... So was my drying her off , massage and later activities. ;)
