Chick-Fil-A Is Done Fighting Gay Marriage. Kind Of, Maybe.
By Josh Voorhees Posted Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at 10:33 AM ET

Chick-fil-A is looking to put this summer's fast-food culture wars behind it and will no longer donate money to groups fighting to block same-sex marriage—at least that's what gay rights advocates in Chicago are saying. The chicken chain, however, is saying suspiciously little about the whole thing.

Advocacy group The Civil Rights Agenda claims that the pledge came in the form of a letter the company sent to Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno, who had opposed the fast food chain's expansion into the city. The letter, according to the group, promised that the company's not-for-profit arm, the WinShape Foundation, "is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas."

I disagree with them doing this after we gave them overwhelming support nationwide ! Now they cop out.. Just more of people yielding to pressure by ffing worthless opposition. Sad, really. Sad..-Tyr

So?

Everytime gay marriage has been allowed to be decided by the voters it has been defeated. Even in CA gay marriage lost by a wide margin yet we told how a majority of voters support it

In November MD has it on the ballot and it is loking like the gay marriage losing streak will continue

The state-sponsored monopoly in favor of straight marriage, and its benefits, appears safe.

As always, money speaks louder than ethics and values. CFA should hold to its previously stated position. And start serving better food. :p

"Suspiciously little"? Sounds like a pretty flimsy article with an anti CFA slant. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions.

Eh it seems the liberal media and the gays jumped the gun (as usual)

I talked earlier today personally with Dan Cathy, CEO of Chick Fil-A about the new reports that Chick Fil-A had capitulated to demands of the supporters of same sex marriage. This is not true. The company continues to focus on the fair treatment of all of its customers and employees, but to end confusion gave me this statement:
“There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago. That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been.”
