This is from Gallup today (http://www.gallup.com/poll/150743/Obama-Romney.aspx). Notice what’s happened since the 47 percent “gaffe”.

Also, this is registered voters. Likely voters probably favors Romney.

American voters have short attention spans and even shorter memories. The "gaffe" will not hurt Romney if he continues to go about business as usual and not dwell on it.

I'm not sure 45 days is enough time to forget it.

What I think is ridiculous is that Obama has "The View" on his schedule, but doesn't have time to meet with any world leaders. And, that he was campaigning during the entire 9/11/12 mess. This man has been campaigning since he was in college and he doesn't know how to stop and address the ME situation .... the man doesn't know how to do his job.

It's not a gaffe. Too many people get a check from the government. The epitome of stupid is to take advice from someone that wants you to lose. He should indeed "dwell" on it while refining the message. A system sustained by fewer and fewer people will eventually implode. If you are one of those "evil" millionaires, taking a three month vacation would pay off better than opening another business and hiring more people.

It's not a gaffe; it's the truth. The Obama worked hard to get all those people off the tax roles. Having them vote for more fiscal irresponsibility is his only chance to get re-elected.

Today. I heard a recording of Obama telling someone that his intention was...to make Even More People, dependent upon government.

Romney is just guilty of doing something Obama, and the Democrats AVOID like the plague. Namely. Telling the Truth, or being Honest.

Let's give it a try. Anyone willing to present an HONEST, recent statement Obama made about the Economy, or Social Security???

The Democrat Party has had that as their intent since FDR.

I don't know if the # of 47% is fixed for Obama, but giving it an 'assume it is', that isn't by a long shot confined or including those on SSI, Medicare/Medicaid, EBT, etc.

Within that number, whatever it is are those that receive no government checks. Many just support big government and will vote that way. My guess around 10-20%.

There are those on SSI and/or other entitlements that think they should be curtailed and/or means tested, they are counted in the '47% and shouldn't be. They care more for their children, grandchildren and country's long term health than their payments and they are legion.

Mitt is saying this last group, needs to be covered. No change, but that their concerns rightfully need to be addressed.

Of course he should. Romney should go on record daily telling a large part of the American electorate that they are lazy and, as President, he will work to further marginalize them.

Do you really believe the things you spout?

Instead of constantly giving handouts, I believe Romney wants to give everyone a hand up! I believe if people who are on assistance really, truly want to get off government assistance they will vote for Romney. I believe he wants everyone to succeed, whereas Obama wants everyone to stay dependent on the government so he has a ready made voting block.

That's definitely true, one walk around my neighborhood or to church will confirm that.
