Illegal campaign contributions, they did this in 2008, obama won , it was swept under the rug. Buying the presidency with the help of foreign money became ok. Are people shocked? Are they outraged? Do any of his supporters care?
However this time it may matter if broadcast for all to see but only because obama is already doing so badly. He got away with it the first time and this time I suspect even more illegal money coming in to try to buy the election for the traitor! Nothing can be done about it because he rules now! If defeated it will become a non-issue and he'll get away with it again! -Tyr

A liberal Presidential candidate (or especially an incumbent) getting punished for illegal campaign donations???

Dream on!

In 1996 Bill Clinton received huge amounts from foreign donors such as Indonesian coal magnate Riady and Chinese bundler John Huang. A scandal erupted, which the Democrats dodged and diverted with their usual ease, little being reported in the press. After the election (in which Clinton outspent Bob Dole hugely), investigations showed that Clinton had indeed received millions in illegal donations. Dozens of those donors (and their American contacts) hurriedly fled the country, and Clinton was forced to pay the donations back, though no higher-ups ever did any jail time.

Then-Clinton-advisor Dick Morris remarked baldly on a TV interview after Clinton won the election: "We had to give back the money, but we didn't have to give back the votes (chuckle)."

Obama isn't losing any sleep over any campaign-donor "scandal".

(But after Wednesday's debate performance, I'm starting to wonder what he IS losing sleep over. It's certainly not his exhaustive interviews with Netanyahu, or his 24/7 work pushing budgets thru the Senate or all those spending cuts he keeps telling us about, thru the House... or even that solid year he spent strengthening our embassies in the middle East AFTER they kept getting attacked over and over. :poke:)
