With the possible exception of Davidson and Shelby counties, Tennessee is xenophobe central. I have already chronicled the Murfreesboro Islamic Center arson incident. I have already mentioned corporate managers that refuse to work with any Middle Easterner. If you're an immigrant of any type, it's a time saver to seek out non-White landlords. My wife is Latina and the Sheriff waited until I left for work to accuse my wife of hiding fugitives because a previous tenant had a warrant for his arrest. I told my wife to stop answering the door for the police; there's no law that requires it. The rage you see against Muslims today can easily be expanded to illegals, then foreigners. Here is another article. Apparently another mosque was torched in Columbia, TN http://www.ethicsdaily.com/why-many-still-oppose-tennessees-anti-islam-bill-cms-17808

The article goes on to mention State Sen. Bill Ketron introduced a bill effectively banning the practice of Islam in TN.

Isn't it amazing how law enforcement in TN is just "stumped" when it comes to arson against Muslims? Golly gee, it's such a hard case to crack.

Here is another article showing how the good natives of Tennessee play "gotcha" with a Muslim speaker:

Bill Ketron doesn't stop there of course, he wanted to introduce a bill:

State Sen. Bill Ketron and Rep. Joe Carr, both Republicans, are preparing a bill that criminalizes illegal immigrants and authorizes local law enforcement authorities to detain “any person” suspected of being in the country unlawfully.

There is also a measure that allows businesses to insist that employees speak only English for “security and efficiency.”

Translated by Fox News Latino. (http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/2010/12/10/tennessees-legislators-plan-consider-arizona-style-immigration-law/#ixzz189S1X400)

Since I have seen how this operates first hand, it would mean any foreign LOOKING person would risk being stopped repeated on a routine basis. Of course "Deputy Dawg" would look for other violations and charges to pile on even if the original stop was for merely looking illegal.
