I wonder if America will ever be blessed by another politican like the Gipper. His wit, wisdom, confidence, and love of America has never been equaled by anyone since he left office
He was the right man, in the right job, at the right time

Reagan could be a funny guy:
"I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself."
"Approximately 80 percent of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation, so let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards from man-made sources."
"What we have found in this country, and maybe we're more aware of it now, is one problem that we've had, even in the best of times, and that is the people who are sleeping on the grates, the homeless who are homeless, you might say, by choice."

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
Ronald Reagan
To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will
Ronald Reagan
Before I refuse to take your questions, I have an opening statement.

One of my favorite lines from him happened about a year before he passed away.
A reporter asked him about his Alzheimer's and whether he noticed much of a difference lately. To which he happily replied:
"It's not so bad. I make NEW FRIENDS every day!"

I still miss him very much. I was in San Diego, Ca. At a Navy Communications school when we heard he had been shot.
Much like my memory of when JFK was assassinated. The horror of it happening again was a terrible thought, and memory.

There have been many times I've found myself wishing that Ronald Reagan was our president again... especially between January 20, 2009 and now

You were either not born or in diapers when Reagan was President. Knowing you as I do, you probably are too lazy to do your own research on the eight years of Reagan and are relying on your usual liberal sources for your information
I lived during the Reagan years and I know how terrible the economy was when he took over from Carter
We had Dems running both the House and Senate and along with the Carter economic policies we had unemplopyment around 8%; double digit inflation; double digit interest rates; a Prime Rate of 21: gas prices doubled; US citizens being held hostage and the US was humilated by the terrorists
Dems were offering the usual solutions (higher taxes and more spending) and lying about Regan (he wuld start WWIII and was too old to be President)
Reagan took all of that is stride, and when it was one on one with Carter in a debate; Reagan showed he was Presidential and he talked TO the voters and did not talk down to them as Carter did
Sounds like the election we are going through right now dosen't it?
Well Reagan won and due to his econoioc policies the US economy enjoyed the largest peacetime expansion ever. All incomes went up. America pride was restored and people found good jobs
In 1984 Dems offered up Walter Mondale and were told the people were undertaxed. The economy was lousy and only government spending would solve those "problems"
A guy named Bob Beckel ran the Mondale campaign and he is now on Fox News as one of their liberal political experts. Reagan won 49 states Gabby and I remember the election was called shortly before 9PM
Now, did Reagan make mistakes? Damn right he did. He was a human being and we all make them. He was wrong to give amnesty to illegals thinking that would solve the problem. He was wrong to run away after terrorists bombed the US Marine barracks - it showed weakness. Reagan was wrong to make a budget deal that increased taxes in exhchange for REAL budget cuts. He allowed the Dems to pass the tax increases and (as always) Dems NEVER passed any budget cuts
All in all, Reagan is remembered as one of the greatest President ever, He bypassed the liberal media and took his case to the voters and the voters supported him. He danced rings aorund liberals and he soundly defeated them at the ballot box
and those are unforgivable sins with libs and those are the main reason they hate Reagan damn near 30 years after he left office
Now I doubt if you read this Gabby as you really do not care about facts - only your political beleifs, increasing the politcal power of Dems, and expanding the size and cost of government. But if you did make it this far, read up on how everyone did better during the Reagan years and why we need someone just like him to help repair the damage Obama, Reid, and Pelois have inflicted on it

Author is Rich Lowry
President Reagan famously quipped, "I'm not worried about the deficit -- it's big enough to take care of itself."
Taken at the time as out-to-lunch insouciance, Reagan's quip was right. The budget deficit took care of itself, a fact worth recalling in light of the deficit angst currently tormenting Democrats everywhere.
Democrats invoke with longing the Clinton administration's approach to the deficit in the 1990s, and they should, so long as it is properly understood. How to summarize it in a word? "Relax."
President Clinton would like to claim that his 1993 budget plan erased the deficit. Republicans would like to claim that their kamikaze anti-spending charge in 1995-'96 did it. In fact, both parties were largely spectators as economic growth trampled the deficit for them.
The soaring economy created a wave of new income, corporate and capital-gains tax revenue that made a stark irrelevance of Washington tax and budgetary policy.
From 1995 to 2000, individual income taxes as a percentage of gross domestic product increased from 8.1 percent to 10.2 percent, even though there was no tax increase in those years -- in fact, the opposite. Clinton signed a tax cut in 1997.
That year the budget went from a $200 billion projected deficit in 2002 to a projected surplus in roughly nine months. Both Clinton and Republicans would, again, like to attribute the final lurch toward balance to their efforts, in this case their 1997 bipartisan budget deal. That's a laugh.
As former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich has noted, the deficit "began to vanish during the spring and summer of 1997, even before the White House and Congress reached agreement, with great fanfare, on how to make it do so officially." Indeed, the 1997 budget deal even slightly increased the deficit in its first year.
The robust growth of the late 1990s had another benign effect: It created a tight labor market that increased the wages of lower-income workers. Clinton understood this potential uplift for the poor early in his administration, when he abandoned plans for liberal spending programs, aka "investment" -- "All the folks that I ran to help would be more hurt by a slow economy than they would be helped by a marginal extra investment program."
Want to "soak the rich" by getting them to pump more revenue into federal coffers? Want to reduce the deficit? Want to help the poor? The key to it all is economic growth.

I get a kick out of Democrats who in trying to trash the GREAT president Reagan offer their bromides that he had the disease when he was president.
Their problem is the White house doctor that testified says that at no time did Reagan show signs of that disease of the brain. The doctor flat out denied he had it.
You know, democrats only appreciated Reagan so long as he was still a democrat. Once he left the party, suddenly they despised the man.

Lets actually see what Reagan did do due to the blast that killed the Marines.
Reagan ordered the Battleship Wisconsin (I believe it is that ship) to fire at will at the area where the camps of the bombers was believed to be. Also other ships fired at will in the same area. People forget the mission of the Marines was to protect the departure of the leader of the Palestinians in Lebanon. Reagan actually TRUSTED the Democrats to keep their word on cutting spending and learned the hard way, DO NOT TRUST THEM. And today they whine that the republicans simply do not trust them to cut back spending. Reagan proved they can't be trusted.
I wish I had saved my short essay on why I believe Ronald Reagan should be the top ranked of all presidents.
Briefly I pointed out that of all presidents, he ranks number 1 in the number of humans freed from communism. Former nations held bondage worship the man. Much more than Americans worship him.
He flip flopped the USA. It took him several years since the problems were so massive, due to democrats core beliefs, but he changed this country from a fearful country, economically devastated to a country in charge and the economy going into a boom that lasted decades.
Many of us understand the true causes of the current problems but Democrats to this very day deny those causes and won't take any blame and put all the blame on President Bush.
Bush also freed millions of humans from their dictatorships.

Notes about what FDR did.
We all know that FDR did things that the courts slapped down.
We know also that he is the father of SS.
So, what is so wrong with SS?
See, I get SS paid each month to me. Compared to the sums I paid in, I get a return only a robber baron should get. That's right. SS pays us far more than we put in.
This nation simply can't stand that.
Oh it can for a period of time. But in the long run, just that one program can loom so large as a total payment by the Feds that any person with common sense has to be frightened.
Then along came Medicare.
Sounds great to pay my doctors bills eh? That is what all of you are doing. And look at how massive the national debt part attrituble to just that one item is. And we wonder why Obama wanted to gut Medicare of over $700 billion dollars?
What do you suppose I paid in total to fund Medicare during my life?
Well, I don't have the actual figures at hand but I don't believe it amounts to even a thousand dollars.
What have you paid to date for Medicare just for me? A heart surgery set you back around $40,000 including the cardiologist, the surgeon and the hospital plus the anestheologist.
Some people have had far higer bills for heart surgery. I suppose my bills were low.
Oh, I have diabetes II also so my other doctors bills you paid are many more thousands.
What If your banker offered you for your $1,000 say $50,000 return in just 6 years or so?
You would call him a crook, some ponzi scheme guy. Maybe you think you and your kids can afford all of this, but you can't. If you think the rich have enough money to bail you out, you are wrong.
Look, I am grateful to the max for both programs. Still as honest as I am, I admit it will break the bank. I am sorry but the programs are the law of the land. It is so easy to simply take those checks from SS and have my doctors paid off. But trust me, down the road, this country will pay big. We no longer have baby booms. The whites in America don't have enough children to hold their own. This country is going not only socialist, but is going to the minorities who do produce large numbers of children. Bank on it. You may not mind, but look at your schools. Who drops out the most? Minorities. They won't get educated. And do you really want them running the country?
They elected Obama. All he does is make excuses why he is so incompetent. And do you believe him? None of this is his fault?
Really? None?

Obama conjures up the ghosts of three dead presidents in order to get advice for his second term.
George Washington told him "always tell the truth"... Obama didn't like this, so he decided to ask Teddy Roosevelt for advice
Teddy Roosevelt told him "speak softly and carry a big stick"... Obama didn't like this, either, so he decided to ask Abe Lincoln for advice
Abe Lincoln told him "go to a play"

Barack Obama was seated next to a little girl on an airplane trip back to Washington. He turned to her and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."
The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to The Obama, "What would you like to talk about?"
"Oh, I don't know," said the Obama. "How about What Changes I Should Make To America?" and he smiles.
"OK," she says. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"
Obama, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it for a second and finally says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."
To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don't know shit?"

OBAMA and OPRAH! Flying on Obama's private plane.
Obama looked at Oprah, chuckled and said, 'You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy.
Oprah shrugged her shoulders and replied, 'I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy..
Michelle added, 'That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy..
Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, 'Such big-shots back there. I could throw all of them out of the window and make 300 million people very happy.'
