We MUST all remember. The Obama administration has placed far more importance on BIG BIRD, and PBS, than the FOUR Americans who died in Bengahzi five weeks ago.

And Obama, with his likely pack of Liars. Still insist. SAVING BIG BIRD, is far more crucial to the SECURITY of our nation than some Americans who had friends, family and MORE Intelligence than OBAMA could ever dream of...while watching BIG BIRD shit in his Mouth.

Um.... has anyone perchance seen any Big Bird or Elmo merchandise on the store shelves anywhere, maybe some Bert and Ernie stuff as well? Yeah, PBS gets a piece of that.

The whole debate about PBS is useless because the federal funds given to PBS amount to a whopping 1% of PBS's annual budget. Big Bird will not be toppled, hell he'll barely stub his damn toe.

PBS calls public television “America’s largest classroom” and says it is provided at a cost of $1 per person per year. It says the government appropriation “equals about 15 percent of our system’s revenues,” although it points out that at some smaller stations it amounts to 40 to 50 percent of their budget.

The actual funding received by PBS represents about .014 percent (http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2012/10/04/if_you_think_big_bird_is_breaking_the_bank_be_glad _youre_not_paying_for_schnappi) of the federal budget.

And only 1% of PBS's budget. They won't close, it'll be a mild inconvenience at the worst.

Sicne you consider the taxpayer money being spent is so minor - it should be easy for the rich libs (and the samrt ones like you) to send a check and cover the cost

BTW, what happens to the money raised when PBS sell DVD's, or when Tickle Me Elmo dools are sold? It does not go back to the US taxpayer Gabby.

Do you think THAT money could be used to pay the costs of PBS and let the overtaxed US taxpayer off the hook?

And if the libs have this kind of reaction to cutting PBS funding, what will be the reatcion when it comes to reforming Social Security. Medicare, and Medicade?

Another ad of Grandma being pushed off the cliff in her wheelchair?

Yeah, but the thing about the American budget is that it's so *huge* that 0.01% is a massive number.

There's that as well. There are all these "Small" expenses our government makes here and there, but they're worth hundreds of millions of dollars a piece. Much like most divorces, it's not one huge thing, but a bunch of little things that add up. It's also they way that credit cards sneak up on people until they're maxed out.

No matter how we do this, we're going to have to stop funding to programs we like, but everyone acts like it's the Earth is gonna crash into the Sun is we let one single program slip. We can't keep spending like we do, and everyone's gonna feel the hurt somehow. That's what happens when you go broke.

No President has the power to get rid of Big Bird. The free market is much more powerful and will ensure the survival of Big Bird and all of his fury friends.
