Okay, so Obama jumped up this time, and was much more vocal.... but he only sealed my vote for Romney. His arguments haven't changed, and every time he opened his mouth, I was counting the ways in which he dodged the question, and purposefully omitted things in the presentation of his case. I was literally pacing the room as the debate wore on, and he talked about natural gas, purposely avoiding talking about GASOLINE prices, the item he was specifically asked about, about clean coal during the same question.

And Romney let him have it. There were a bunch of points where he just got an incredibly good shot in on Obama on most of the subjects. Loved when he asked Obama about his pension, and pointed out that it's invested in overseas companies as well, including ones from China, and that his own money was invested in a blind trust that traded globally, meaning he had no real control over where the money goes.

booooring to an absurd level. Almost every direct question was ignored by both candidates, using the time to promote general policy or attack the other speaker. Professional politicians at work.

The only moment of interest (i thought) was when Mitt brought up 'fast and furious' but that was quickly snuffed out when the mod told him that it was off topic to talk about the state selling assault weapons to drug cartels when the question was about taking assault weapons off the streets...

Still yet to be impressed by either candidate.

At this point, having lived through the last four years of crushing governmental policies, I would be totally impressed with anyone who is on the side of creating more "private sector" jobs.

lol, yeah, I kind of thought that was pretty much on point. I mean, how can you NOT talk about that? Drug cartels are on the street, and also proliferate the assault weapons, so how precisely is that not on topic of assault weapons on the street?

CSPAN announced they want voters to vote for the winner. I voted for Romney. At the moment, Obama is leading. I don't like it that on CSPAN you only can vote by logging into facebook. I am not all that fond of facebook.

I swear. The Obama team has people on all the channels voting for him. They clog up the Sunday shows supporting him. The Media is in the tank for Obama.

Romney should not even be in the same league as Obama per the Democrats views. But Romney cleaned his clock. No, he did not wipe him out as he did last time. There is no way Obama won though.

October 16, 2012

CANDY CROWLEY INSERTED HERSELF INTO THE DEBATE, OUTRAGEOUSLY, to break up Romney’s most dramatic moment, when Romney was questioning what Obama said the day after the attack in Benghazi. Obama had said he’d called the attack an “act of terror” and Romney was staring him down about it. Crowley broke up the showdown, saying “He did in fact call it an act of terror,” which took the wind out of Romney’s sails. We were advised to check the transcript, but the dramatic moment was lost. The transcript shows Romney was right (http://www.forextv.com/forex-news-story/full-transcript-of-obama-s-rose-garden-speech-after-sept-11-benghazi-attack), and Crowley and Obama were wrong.

ADDED: The phrase “acts of terror” does appear in the remarks: “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.” As Patrick Brennan says at NRO (http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/330676/act-terror-patrick-brennan): “One could take that as a reference to acts which include the tragedy in Benghazi, obviously, but there was clearly no effort made to label it an act of terrorism. One reason why this might be: According to U.S. law, acts of terrorism are premeditated. The Obama administration’s line for days following Obama’s Rose Garden statement suggested that the attack wasn’t premeditated.”

Their poll also indicated that Romney convinced more people to vote for him tonight.

I think that gives Romney the win

Was a contentious debate, no doubt about that. At one point wondered if one was going to throw a punch. However, Obama will get the 'win,' but folks aren't going to go back to Obama that have moved. The momentum is with Mitt.

Even the MSNBC 'undecideds' were leaning more towards Mitt:

http://youtu.be/JDanNdzAUn0

Frank Luntz's group was overwhelmingly going for Romney, most had voted previously for Obama:

Respectfully disagree with your analysis of what was said. Did you see her after on CNN? Her lame 'something like an apology' she blamed on the fact that the word 'terror' came out at Rose Garden address. You can read that address in its entirety at Whitehouse.gov

Interestingly, the transcript on the Repsonse to Benghazi that the White House posted doesnt mention terror. The only mention of terror in the speech is after the White House transcript cuts off when he is talking about the anniversary of 9/11/01

ROMNEY: The -- the greatest failure we've had with regards to -- to gun violence in some respects is what -- what is known as Fast and Furious. Which was a program under this administration, and how it worked exactly I think we don't know precisely, where thousands of automatic, and AK-47 type weapons were -- were given to people that ultimately gave them to -- to drug lords.
They used those weapons against -- against their own citizens and killed Americans with them. And this was a -- this was a program of the government. For what purpose it was put in place, I can't imagine. But it's one of the great tragedies related to violence in our society which has occurred during this administration. Which I think the American people would like to understand fully, it's been investigated to a degree, but -- but the administration has carried out executive privilege to prevent all of the information from coming out.
I'd like to understand who it was that did this, what the idea was behind it, why it led to the violence, thousands of guns going to Mexican drug lords.

OBAMA: Candy?

CROWLEY: Governor, Governor, if I could, the question was about these assault weapons that once were once banned and are no longer banned.

It was like saying lets talk about making apple pie and when the first person says the word apple in their talking a foul is called!

Obama's, Candy? query clearly shows that it was discused prior to the debate and that it was not to be allowed!
Hows that for setting conditions prior to debating? The President apparently got to censor any chance of his major mistakes being discussed prior to the debate! That scheming leftist biatch should be horsewhipped IMHO.. Her obvious interference yet again pints to how these people have absolutely no honor or integrity! One of the reasons I always enjoy going back and forth with you, you follow up. Indeed the comment followed the 9/11/01 comment. Much earlier in the address, the 'first nod' to 'we must always avoid denigrating other religions, blah, blah.'

I don't think it's fair to say who won the debate, as how can there be a winner when the moderator is "in the tank" for one of them? Personally. I turned it off after awhile as it was like Romney being on The View, or MSNBC...

Candy Crowley, who was suspected of being one more liberal moderator in the tank for Barack Obama, was more than just in the tank for him; she dove in and sucked all the water out for him so he could pretend he walked on water.

In the Vice-Presidential debate, Martha Raddatz, no slouch at shilling for the Democratic Party, interrupted Paul Ryan 15 times and Joe Biden only five.

Crowley made Raddatz look like an amateur. She interrupted Obama nine times, (although four of those were when he wouldn’t respect the time limit when discussing assault weapons; he went over his time limit all night long), but when it came to Mitt Romney, she was utterly beyond the pale.

Crowley interrupted Romney 28 times. 28 times. Her desperation to keep Romney from scoring points was so patently obvious that it wasn’t really a surprise when she had her infamous moment: the moment when she interrupted and falsely claimed Romney was incorrect in accusing Obama of refusing to call the Benghazi attack an act of terror.

And even beyond the interruptions, there were numerous instances where Crowley’s obvious partisanship prompted her to treat Romney with great disrespect:

1. She wouldn’t let him respond when Obama lied about the auto industry. First she called him Mr. Romney instead of governor, then protested, “there'll be plenty of chances here to go on, but I want to... We have all these folks. I will let you absolutely... OK. Will - will - you certainly will have lots of time here coming up.” Romney never did get the chance to respond.

2. After the question asking whether gas prices as they stand now are the new normal, Obama got 2 chances to respond. When Romney asked for his second chance, Crowley shut him off by saying, “ … in the follow up, it doesn't quite work like that. But I'm going to give you a chance here. I promise you, I'm going to.” She didn’t.

3. When discussing how he would deal with deductions, just as Romney was about to destroy Obama with statistics, Crowley jumped in to save her man not only by denying the value of statistics, but changing the narrative to say Romney’s numbers couldn’t possibly add up:

“And Governor, let's - before we get into a vast array of who says - what study says what, if it shouldn't add up. If somehow when you get in there, there isn't enough tax revenue coming in. If somehow the numbers don't add up, would you be willing to look again …”

4. When Romney was trying to make a point of Obama’s pension investing in China, Crowley cut him off by insinuating people were tired of him talking:

“Governor Romney, you can make it short. See all these people? They've been waiting for you. Make it short.”

Then she really tried to humiliate him with this: “If I could have you sit down, Governor Romney. Thank you.” She never asked Obama to sit down.

Lets consider this.. Obama had the moderator and majority of the media in the tank for him , yet we arent hearing today that he blew Romney away. We do hear today the lie that he won, when actually its more accurate to say that he lied and did not lose as badly as he did in the first debate! Had Romney not done such a great job up against such a stacked deck last night we'd be hearing what a blow-out obama scored! With all that on his side obama still came off as a damn liar and a dumbass to people that are not one themselves. Romney was about to nail his sorry hide to the wall on the gun runnig scandal but the communist/socialist woman saved obama!

Looked like Obama spent four days learning at the BIDEN School of Stupidity.Except Biden is a tough old Irishman; he knows how to intimidate people and has probably been in a few brawls. The Obama has been handled with kid gloves his entire life, and as a result in a true one-on-one situation he will always back down, find his comfort area then attack with the help of his friends or some position of privilege.

You can say what you want about Romney being raised in a life of privilege, but the fact is that he lived in a small apartment with his young wife, didn't ask or take anything from his Dad, they had five kids while he was building his business and had plenty of opportunity to struggle financially. The way he handles himself in a confrontation shows that he's got the self-confidence that only comes from going through tough situations and coming out the other side on top.

And talk about community service. Mormon Missionaries are well known for bringing the religion to many people but how many of you realize they also do community service work?

I have spent time working at the local food bank and there I saw Mormon Missionaries packing food and taking carts of food out to families. The food bank even has lunches for the homeless or those in need. Those sandwiches are made by the deli of major food stores and given away as part of the store charity work.

But Mitt had a very successful father and I have no doubt his dad was a good teacher. But Mitt claims when he got married, he used an ironing board as a table. That is not what rich people do.
