Justice Stevens didn't have to retire. He could have been snoozing away on the Supreme Court bench these many years, as Ginsburg did.

The main reason for ordinary citizens to own guns, is to protect themselves against government. Do you suppose Stevens even knows that, or ever knew it?

(CNSNews.com) - Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, speaking at an event hosted by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence’s Legal Action Project, said Monday said that having “some kind of constitutional right to a cell phone with a predialed 911 at your bedside might be better protection than a gun.”

“I’m not sure I actually have captured the entire question, but it does occur to me that one thing that I thought about from time to time is that maybe you have some kind of constitutional right to have a cell phone with a predialed 911 number at your bedside, and that might provide you with a little better protection than a gun, which you’re not used to using,” Stevens said.

STEVENS = Once a liberal asshat always a liberal asshat.. Almost a certainty that he has great protection where he lives. We that do not simply think he hould shut his ignorant piehole and maybe just kiss our patriotic asses. -Tyr

Somebody should have asked him:

"Justice Stevens, you had a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. And you could not be removed from the bench due to the decisions you make. Suppose you had developed a mental problem and started ruling in unconstitutional ways, taking away our property, interfering with our freedom, and even imposing death sentences where none were deserved, on us."

"Justice Stevens, which device would better protect us from YOU? A phone dialing 911, or a gun?"

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Little-Acorn. If anyone had the courage to ask Stevens such a question. Based on his obvious biases, and liberal tendencies. I could see him switching his personality from the Judge to "CURLY" of the THREE STOOGES, wiping his face with his hands and laughing, while screaming...."I'm not crazy. I'm not crazy....whoop, whoop, whoop....You stupid asshole!"
