LAS VEGAS (FOX5) - A southern Nevada woman was arrested on Friday afternoon at the Riviera hotel/casino for attempting to vote twice in the presidential election.
According to the office of the secretary of state, on or about Oct. 29, Roxanne Rubin voted at a polling station at the Anthem Community Center in Henderson. Later the same day, Rubin allegedly attempted to vote at the polling station at 9725 S. Eastern Ave.
A poll worker at the second station conducted a voter database search that indicated Rubin had already voted, something she denied.
She was not allowed to vote and a complaint was filed. Rubin was taken into custody by agents with Nevada's multi-jurisdictional Elections Integrity Task Force.
"I don't know why I'm here," Rubin told reporters as she was escorted to a waiting police car Friday.
She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and charged with one count of voting more than once in the same election, a Category "D" felony.

Obviously a dem because had she been a republican they would have blasted it all over hell's last acres by now!

She now has an interest in voting rights for convicted felons. That will lead her to become an expert activist, garnering her contributor status on MS-NBC.

Kinda scary looking at this from the other side of voter fraud. Suppose someone commits fraud by casting a vote in your name. You later show up to cast your vote and find yourself in custody and charged with a felony.

I like how you automatically assume she is a Democrat voter without any evidence. I hear the Taliban called looking for you. They want you to work for them as supreme court justice.

The sentence fairly well explains itself. Were she a Republican it would have been national news and on all the major networks. The fact that it is not points squarely to her being a dem. They almost always leave the -D- off when its a bad thing and always make sure its known when its a Republican.. -Tyr

Investigator believes woman was testing the system by trying to vote twiceBy Kristi Jourdan (http://www.reviewjournal.com/about/print/rjstaff.html)LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

Roxanne Rubin was upset poll workers did not check her ID, so she tried to vote twice to prove a point, according to the Nevada secretary of state.

Rubin, 56, was arrested Friday by the state's multi-jurisdictional Elections Integrity Task Force and charged with trying to vote more than once in the same election, a felony.

When reached Monday, Rubin said she wants to share her side of the story.

"I can't talk, and I'm dying to," Rubin said. "I'm talkative by nature."

In a sworn affidavit, criminal investigator Shelley Neiman wrote Rubin was "willing to risk the penalty in order to expose what she perceived as a weakness in the voting process" and that Rubin "was unhappy with the process; specifically in that her identification was not checked."

Neiman wrote that Rubin "wanted to make a point" by testing the system and trying to cast another vote.

The secretary of state said Rubin, a registered Republican, voted last week at the Anthem Community Center in Henderson. About 30 minutes later, she is alleged to have appeared at a Las Vegas polling station at 9725 S. Eastern Ave., and attempted to vote a second time. A records search showed she had already voted, but Rubin insisted she had not and should be allowed to cast a ballot. Poll workers did not allow it.

According to the affidavit, a poll worker overheard Rubin say to a man "I signed my name differently, and they did not ask for ID."
The Nevada attorney general filed the criminal complaint Friday in Las Vegas Justice Court.

According to the secretary of state's website, the election task force was created in 2008 to address voter fraud or intimidation during the registration and voting processes.

According to state law, when voters register they provide their information, including a Nevada driver's license number or the last four digits of their social security number if they don't have a license, said Larry Lomax, Clark County's registrar of voters. That information is compared to the DMV and social security records. If it matches, voters are not asked for ID when they vote, Lomax said.

Poll workers can ask for ID when a signature does not match.

"We emphasize in our training a lot to be sure you look at the signature," Lomax said. "When it's really busy like it is in a presidential election with long lines, there's a tendency to start rushing things."

Most signatures are easily recognizable, but sometimes people are in a hurry and want to get it done, he added.

Republicans nationally have pushed for photo identification legislation to prevent election fraud, particularly regarding voter registration and absentee ballots.

This issue will likely come up in the 2013 Legislature, when lawmakers discuss if election workers should request photo ID before voters can cast ballots. Assemblyman Ira Hansen, R-Sparks, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in July that he does not predict success for his photo ID requirement for voters. But the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an Arizona photo ID law in April, and the U.S. Supreme Court upheld an Indiana voter ID law in 2008.

Hansen has said his goal is to prevent fraudulent voting by anyone.

Personally. If everyone here managed to GROW UP for only a few minutes.

We should all be MUTUALLY angry, regardless of whether that woman is a Dem, or Rep.

She attempted to break the law, and was caught.

All of us should be APPLAUDING the fact she was caught. Instead of playing the little children games of pointing accusing fingers. Much like OBAMA has been doing since before he took office.

This crap. All of it. Is why NONE OF US can get along with anyone who has differing opinions. or idea's.

And we blame it on Congress?

Think about it. VOTE Legally. Then complain.

Would you be saying the same if she were a Democrat. as Tyr-Ziu Saxnot (http://www.debatepolicy.com/member.php?2275-Tyr-Ziu-Saxnot) claimed? I don't think so. It's issues like this that bring the divide between conservatives and Republicans to the forefront.

IMO, this should have been a no-brainer, yet it was.

Don't even get me started. How about all the times I ask about kids being taught to hate jews? Or kids teaching others about Muslim global domination? Or that it should, according to YOUR logic, be ok for Americans to piss on soldiers, or torture, or beat prisoners or kill innocents - because after all, it was in a warzone - where you don't hold Muslims accountable because things were done in a warzone. I see you falling EERILY silent when questioned on certain things.

I don't know (nor do I really care) if she was an R or a D. I do know this however, the last time we had an election, one of my sons got re-registered as a Dem and apparently voted in a local election as such. He was deployed in Afghanistan at the time. He came home in time to vote in the national election and that is when he found out he was registered as a Dem. Wonder of wonders, every person in his unit (National Guard) that had been deployed at the same time found themselves to be registered Dems and to have voted as such in the local election. By the way, nothing was done by the "authorities" about this very obvious case of voter fraud.

I'm with the Muslims on this one. Do whatever it takes to win a war. If that means lining up enemy soldiers for information, say "talk" with a pistol to their head and pulling the trigger when they don't give up information, that's just what it takes to win the war.

Not three hours ago. It is now 4:10 p.m. Tuesday. While leaving the polls after voting. A young man holding an Obama banner outside, reminded a young woman...with two small children...That the children should both VOTE twice.

I heard him tell her, and I couldn't resist telling him "Only Idiots would vote twice!"

Tyr. Hearing all of the different reports about suspected election violations so far. Just makes me feel more angry. Knowing those who do the intentional cheating...and even brag about it. Are the very same people who always stamp their feet, and make demands that the voting process needs to be controlled better...to prevent Cheating.

Most of us know, and have seen documented proof over the years. That the DENIAL BUNCH, normally known as the Liberal gangs of crooks, liars, and cheats...must always point accusing fingers at everyone else...IN ORDER TO HIDE their own Cheating.

And American History will remember how OBAMA, may have been the First Black President...of SOME of the people. But his Legacy will be the Most Defiant, Disrespectful, and Detrimental, FAILURE to ever live in the White House.

jimnyc. That sounds like the Expected, Typical, Liberal thing you WOULD HAVE DONE...if you were as lame, and dishonest as they are.

We had the computer screen voting device that needed to be Touched, in order to vote.

After I completed the entire ballot. I had trouble with the "CAST YOUR VOTE" window. It took three times.

Maybe I voted 3 Times for Romney>>>>>>????
