This is what happens when progressives want to ban guns .... the other side feels the need to be just as extreme.

Yep, the guy who wrote the article is a typical hysterical anti-gun nutcase.

So the people who live in Louisiana want to bring their state's constitution in line with the U.S. Constitution? Including its flat ban (aka the 2nd amendment) on government making any restrictions on guns?

Oh, the horror....!! :waaaah:

There's a body on the ground gushing blood: our clue that we're in Louisiana. There's a handgun farther away on the ground, still hot from use. The sound of the sirens is getting higher. Help is on the way. The ambulance stops. Paramedics jump out. Rush to the victim's aid. "Don't worry," they tell the gun as they wheel it away. "You're going to be OK."

:facepalm99:

You're right, the opening paragraph is a perfect example of "how wacko" some are.

Wow, killed itself in the first paragraph. That's the kind of horrible writing you only rarely see. I mean, could the article BE more biased? How could we possibly take it any less seriously from here?

Having a rational conversation about guns in America has become impossible, mostly because of people who worship guns as their idols. To them, anybody asking for moderation, for common sense, is a heretic. Suggest to the gun worshipers that some reasonable gun measures might be better for people, and they won't care. Humanity's hardly their concern.

Nice, nice way to bring us all together in this discussion. Sure insult every who doesn't agree with you in the most intolerant way possible. There's the way to unite us.

Oh good, we finally, a quarter of the way through the article get to hear what the article is actually about. Only took 4 paragraphs to stop insulting anyone who doesn't agree with him. So basically, the Amendment proposal would allow concealed handguns, such as are already allowed in Texas, a location that has far lower gun crime than Louisiana. I mean, God forbid we follow the example of more successful people.

Now there is a sentence I have to talk about a bit:

If the amendment passes, will felons have a fundamental right to hide weapons on themselves?

They already do this, and don't care that it's illegal! How god damned hard can it be to understand this point? Anyone up to the point where murder is a viable option, has ceased to care about minor offensives like a carrying a concealed weapon. The only people that are effected by concealed weapon bans are the vitcims

No anti-gun proponent has ever managed to have an answer for this point, and there's a simple reason for that: There isn't one. Criminals will continue to flout gun laws, because guns are the most efficient means of committing their crimes. The only time they rethink this is when there are enough suitably armed folks around that they have to wonder if they'll get shot in the process. Simple jail time is clearly not deterring them, and the cops are not really deterring them, so the only place left for the deterrents are with the people themselves.

Anti-gun nuts are simply that--NUTS. They in their foolishness think to ban evil. To them the gun is evil rather than the person using it!! They go, bad gun , gun kill, we ban gun, problem solved! History shows quite clearly that murdering/killing happened before there ever were guns . Somehow most of them seem to miss that..-Tyr
