Hey, it could happen... :p

Former U.S. president George W. Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush) accidentally voted for Barack Obama today at a polling place near his Crawford, TX home. According to local reports, the two-term Republican was confused by the instructions on his electronic voting machine and mistakenly cast a ballot he intended to discard.

Military Absentee Ballots Delivered One Day Late, Would Have Swung Election For Romney

by drew on November 7, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC – Sources confirmed today that hundreds of thousands of military absentee ballots were delivered hours after the deadline for them to be counted, with preliminary counts showing that they would have overturned the vote in several states and brought a victory for Governor Mitt Romney.

Officials say the ballots were delivered late due to problems within the military mail system. Tracking invoices show the ballots sat in a warehouse for a month, then they were accidentally labeled as ammunition and shipped to Afghanistan. At Camp Dwyer, Marine Sergeant John Davis signed for them and was surprised at the contents.

“I told Gunny we got a bunch of ballots instead of ammo,” Davis told investigators earlier today. “He told me to file a report of improper delivery and that the chain of command would take care of it. We didn’t hear anything for three weeks. While we were waiting we came under fire so we dumped a bunch of them in the Hescoes. We didn’t dig those ones back out.”

After military officials realized the initial error, the ballots were then sent back to the U.S. but suffered a series of setbacks.

Twelve boxes of ballots were dropped overboard during delivery to the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) in the Persian Gulf, then while the ship sailed to Bahrain, postal clerks allegedly pocketed whatever ballots they wanted.

The remaining absentee ballots were loaded onto a C-130, but the flight was delayed until November 1st so the crew could get tax free pay for the month. Once the ballots arrived stateside they were promptly mailed to each state’s counting facility, reaching their final destination on November 7th.

“It’s a shame,” Rear Admiral John Dawes said when asked for comment. “I expected a delay so I ordered that everyone cast their votes eight months ago. It’s really unfortunate that our mail system failed us and directly affected the course of history.”

Upon hearing the news, angry Republicans have begun a demand for a recount, but most military absentee voters have shrugged off the news, with many wondering whether the care packages their families sent six months ago were ever going to show up.

I knew the conspiracy theories would start at some point.

The alleged late votes are the fault of the U.S. military, not the government or either political party. Perhaps those responsible should be dealt with.

I read the story. Sounds like a bungle of historic proportions.
Not as funny as the Bush voting story though.

Neither side seem to like to take voting/ballot irregularity seriously when it comes from the other.
You'd think it'd THE one Bi-partisan issue everyone would agree on.

The slap fight only keeps the stats quo in power as they both manipulate the vote to their advantage on wholesale and retail levels.

We've got to take this issue out of the partisan debate.
either it happen or it didn't. if/since it did. What's effect and the remedy?

Last time I checked Barack Obama was the Commander In Chief of the U.S. Military. If this has legs, there's no way the GOP will let this slide.

What voting/ballot irregularity?

I've posted several items before in several threads, it's not taken too seriously, eventhough its very damning.
Few want to make any changes or mention serious voting/ballot problems unless it's on the other party.

many don't want to deal with the idea of challenging a national election on either side.
"how's that going to help the country" is what the pragmatist of all strips like to say. justice be danged.

The dailycurrant is a known, liberal AL GORE site, much like the DemocratUnderground site.

This is just another case for GABBY to remind us all. How full of Crap that space between her ears...really is.

im sorry, are you challenging the source of a humor thread?
Fairplay- the duffelbag site states the following: (I think this is what LA was getting at)
about us: The Duffel Blog serves the men and women of the US Military with a daily dose of military humor, funny military pictures, and faux news. We take an interesting and funny look at military life. We focus on veterans, military stories, defense, politics (sometimes) and life on base — with a comedic twist. We are in no way, shape, or form, a real news outlet. Just about everything on this website is satirical in nature.

Hmmm. Perhaps this is in the humor section for a reason. Ie- not to be taken seriously; clearly, you don't get the joke. Check out the steel cage, might suit you better.

Whoever is in charge of the military mail system needs to be held accountable for this.

Logroller. You and Gabby are birds of a feather.
Just like Liberal comedians always make claims...after the fact. Saying how sorry they are for Intentionally using slurs they would never use against their own MESSIAH.
In other words. Making excuses...even if it was meant to be a joke for some. Is actually more Liberal BS coming from a sad, little minded Liberal like Gabby.
If you don't like that. Tough.

This thread is in the humor section--just a fact, not an opinion. In my opinion, The idea that bush voted for the wrong candidate is preposterous rather its on lib.net or ubercon.tv. But hey, if you don't get the joke, the joke's on you.

to make my point, I need only reference the following:

The Daily Currant is an English language online satirical newspaper that covers global politics, business, technology, entertainment, science, health and media. It is accessible from over 190 countries worldwide - now including South Sudan.
Our mission is to ridicule the timid ignorance which obstructs our progress, and promote intelligence - which presses forward.

Q. Are your newstories real?
A. No. Our stories are purely fictional. However they are meant to address real-world issues through satire and often refer and link to real events happening in the world.

Wow.
Thirteen posts before anybody noticed that. And it sounds like little gabby still hasn't.

That's what I get for expecting liberals to notice what was right under their noses, even with the broadest of hints.

Too many do not seem to be reading posts, just commenting on what they 'think' it says or attacking other posters. It does get tiresome. Personally I wanted to see how long they'd keep taking the post in a serious manner. Pretty long.

"Folks, it's one week before the election, and Chris Christie is praising a Democrat. What’s next, a Democrat praising Christie? It’s unnatural; it’s like kissing your sister. Which, by the way, would be federal law if Obama is elected." –Stephen Colbert

"You know what the popular costume with the kids is this year? They get black face and a valium and they go as first-debate Obama." –Bill Maher

"President Obama flew to a rally in Las Vegas last night. However, he did not visit any of the casinos. You know why? When you're $16 trillion in debt, they don't let you in." –Jay Leno

"Today Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama for president. This news surprised many elderly Americans who thought they were the same person." –Craig Ferguson

"One of President Obama's winning points last night was about how sanctions against Iran are crippling their economy. And believe me, if anyone knows how to cripple an economy, it's President Obama." –Jay Leno
