I notice on Judge Judy that a word is used and I would love to get your view.

Though whites also say this, mostly this is a term used by blacks.

What does it mean to you?

Basically I mean.

Basically I mean.

It means don't listen to all the BS I just spouted ... just listen to what I'm about to say because I realize that after listening to myself I realize I just spouted off a lot of BS and now I'm trying to clean up the confusion I created....

Basically, it means nothing.

It's probably unnecessary in many cases, but that doesn't bother as much as "honestly, ..." Or "to tell the truth..." As though its a conversation in Simon says.

Huh? You've got issues man.

What does it mean to you?

Basically I mean.

"Basically" strips away all the extraneous factors and gets to the essence. Example... "I was walking down the street at night exercising my right to public nudity while happening to notice conjugal activity occurring in various residences at night and became subject to certain natural bodily functions until I heard a door slam accompanied by a shotgun blast with a tree exploding a short distance from my head which caused me to run out into the street where I was struck by a car causing whiplash necessitating a six-week stay in traction at my local hospital... Basically, I'm currently unemployed."

Hopefully that pure hypothetical example clears up any confusion for you. :)

When blacks blurt that out, she gets pissed off. And rips them for saying it.

Why do you suppose she gets angry?

In the context of what blacks are saying, it has no meaning.

I had filtered you and took you off to see if you are still insulting.

I plan to keep you off filter for had I filtered you I would not know of your insult.

Question.

Why the hell are you like that?

I plan to explain to the rest why that is not an useless question. Why must you whine over questions?

I believe that Judge Judy has not objected to the word "honestly" since in her court she expects honesty.

I spoke of the issues Judge Judy has. Define what you believe are my issues?

If that were true, don't you think Judge Judy would welcome the use of the word rather than get very upset when blacks use the word.

Maybe you need to watch her program where you will soon find out what I mean.

After having spent the day ignoring my family and cooking responsibilities and giving this issue some serious thought, and of course relating it to Judge Judy, you pretty much have two litigating parties setting forth their arguments in court, each summarized in a circle if you will, and at some point the circles will obviously overlap, hence the conflict, and that visual overlap is that which can be summed up with "Basically." Simple really, Judge Judy is just a Venn diagram in action.

fj and la, you've made me embarrassed to have answered straight. LOL! I didn't pick up on the demand to watch and apply Judge Judy. My bad.

I had hoped to inspire the board intellectuals to show up.

I still remain hopeful.

He's beginning to sound more like Bill Clinton, and his question about the "meaning of IS..is?"

Let's see a list of those he thinks would be intellectually equal to him here.

Gotta start somewhere. And when he tells us. HE is the only one.

We just Ignore him. As he claims to Ignore me.

I prefer sounding like Bill Clinton than to act as you do. As a petulant child.

I was chiding the person who acted superior to the rest of us.

But you would not be able to tell that.

You are perhaps the only person that eats shorts.
