So much for Republicans "blocking" Obama's attempt to "solve" the fiscal cliff problem. First McConnells offers to bring Obama's plan to floor of the Senate for a vote

http://youtu.be/JHQFe1qrxSo and Harry Reid refuses the offer
Senate majority leader Harry Reid is denying the Senate the chance to vote on President Barack Obama's proposal. Reid calls Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's request to vote on the plan a "stunt." "I reserve the right to object. I just a minute ago moved to the Russia trade bill," said Reid. "The purpose of moving to this bill is to protect American jobs. If we don't do this legislation, we'll lose American jobs for sure and put American companies in even worse shape than they are with Chinese and European companies. So the question is really this: are we going to get serious here and legislate or is this more of the obstruction we felt so much during this last Congress?
"The answer to that is really obvious. The answer is yes. Or are we going to continue the sort of political stunts that the Republican Leader is trying to pull today, now? On the substance, the Senate has passed a bill that goes a long way to address the fiscal cliff. That's already passed here. Last July the Senate passed a bill to continue tax cuts for 98 percent of all Americans and 90 percent of all American small businesses. If the Republican leader were serious about preventing us from going over the fiscal cliff, he would urge his colleague, the speaker, to get the house to -- to get the House to take up the Senate-passed bill now. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/harry-reid-denies-senate-chance-vote-obamas-plan_665091.html It seems like the White House WANTS the nation to go over the cliff
The White House is "absolutely" prepared to go over the so-called "fiscal cliff" should negotiations with Republicans fail to muster a deal that would prevent a devastating series of tax hikes and spending cuts from triggering Jan. 1, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said today.
<!--pagebreak--> Geithner, whom President Obama assigned to be the point person on his "fiscal cliff" proposal, told CNBC (http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?play=1&video=3000133550) in an interview that an agreement won't be reached by year's end unless the GOP concedes an increase in tax rates for the top two percent of wealthiest Americans. Disparity over whether to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for all Americans or only those making less than $250,000 a year has barricaded any headway on a plan for months
"Oh, absolutely," Geithner said when asked whether the White House is readying for the possibility of going over the "cliff." http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-34222_162-57557405-10391739/geithner-absolutely-ready-to-go-over-cliff/

Harry Reid is a stunt. I mean a Distortion of what a human mind is supposed to be.

I'm really happy Harry declined to vote.

He actually HELPED Americans who can THINK on their own. To see WHO, and WHERE that claim of Obstruction the Dems always use, really comes from.

Unlike the Denial Bunch who blindly voted for Obama, and has no idea what is going on.

To paraphrase Michael Douglas in 'The American President'...

We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problems are, I promise you, the Democrats in Congress are not the least bit interested in solving them. They is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of them and telling you who's to blame for them.

This is not the first time Reid has refused to allow a vote on an Obama proposal. If he were to allow the vote, it would not be the first time the entire Democratic Senate voted against an Obama proposal. For some reason, the Dems in the Senate think if they vote something down, they can point to the GOP and say 'See? They did it! It's their fault!'

I think Democrats actually want to go over the "cliff". It will automatically get them the tax increases they desire. In addition, they can then blame the Republicans for raising taxes on the middle class because they blocked any deal in order to protect their fat cat, rich buddies. Despite that not being true, we saw from the last election that the Democrats have a much better marketing department than the Republicans and you can bet that Americans will buy into any blame the Democrats wish to throw around.
All of this is in preparation for 2014 when congressional House seats will be up for grabs where Democrats will use this fiasco in order to reclaim a majority in the House.

^I don't think the election math favors them without BO at the top of the ticket.

Thunderknuckles. We all know the Dems will do ANYTHING they can to get the Majority back in the House. But...where the Rubber, really meets the road is in the Senate.

Getting Harry Reid out of the way, and hopefully OUT OF OFFICE is the one, and only way America can be saved.

Obama is nothing more than a Phony Figurehead the Democrats need to rally around. Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid. With a few other SELFISH, ANTI-AMERICAN Politicians from BOTH parties have so much Invested in their OWN Career's. They have managed to FOOL the American people. And proof of that is now being experienced in our PUBLIC schools, and COLLEGES where Liberal Professors who follow Karl Marx, and Stalin by enforcing, and brainwashing Naive Americans with Communist idea's that are based on Pure Democracy. Better known as MOB RULE.

OK then lets have Boehner put Obama's plan up for a vote in the House and see how things go. Anyone want to bet it will get the same support as Obama's last budget he sent from the Oval office. It was defeated without a single vote in support. Lets see the liberal media spin that one
