If so - what kind (brand) do you own and are you happy with it?

I don't know if anyone will publicly admit to owning a minivan. :D

Working up to being a 'Soccer Mom' CP? :poke:

Actually, I wouldn't mind having a full size van if they didn't use so much gas.

My dad had a Pontiac Montana extended minivan(he flew radio control airplanes and needed the length). It really wasn't so mini but it did get really good mileage. It drove more like a car and had a much lower center of gravity than most vans, it didn't give you the feeling that it could roll any second. With all of the seats out it had the room of a suburban. It carried 7 adults comfortably with some luggage area behind the back seat.

They aren't very popular, A pontiac with very little marketing, but that means you can pickup a loaded one for a great deal. On Star is a great feature, you don't step up to get in it and they are much faster than you would expect. I drove it back from San Antonio one night, relatively flat and got up to 32 miles to a gallon at 60. At 75 it would range between 26-28 mpg.

If I was going to get one, especially a used one, I would definitely shop around for one of these.

We have a T&C right now and this is the 3rd time in under 140k miles the tranny has gone out on us....

Looking at maybe a Toyota Sienna or a Honda Odessy...

Which engine does it have? We got the largest engine and I believe it had a beefier tranny.

My parents had a Ford Windstar up until I graduated high school.

IMO, it was a piece of shit.
They paid 26 thousand for it brand new and its lifetime was nothing but problems.

I would recommend getting an Odyssey. Hondas and Toyotas have the least amount of problems out of any car maker (even high end luxury cars have more problems than hondas and toyotas)...

I drive a Toyota, and very rarely have I ever had problems with it...

Why do they all have such fat behinds? The minivans, that is; no comment on the drivers. ;)

Looking at Consumer Reports - 97-2004 all had the "Worst" rating for Transmissions..
