I suppose to most of you, this report on the outcome of the De La Salle (Concord, CA in the SF Bay Area) is as exciting to you as reading a story about toast tossing contests.

However I am saluting the finest ever high school football program. In the past 34 years, Coach Ladacour has lost 25 games. Most of those lossed came in the beginning of Coach Lad's era. I think he has lost maybe 5 games since 1992. You do the math. Imagine if you will that your son played for a coach that lost less than one game per year on average. And he won 151 in a row. And has taken a number of national championships. This from a small school that I believe has 600 students. Joe Montana's sons played for this team. They have pro players playing right now. Maurice Jones Drew playing for the Jaguars came from De La Salle.

So, reporting what happened last night is my pleasure.

De La Salle we were told had run into the brick wall. The opponent averaged 50 points per game. And had a very good defense.

We were told that they will beat De La Salle like a pro team would. They tossed their passing and scoring records at De La Salle.

Well, I am happy to report that none of that claptrap came true.

De La Salle nailed them quick and often. By the time the game was maybe 5 minutes gone, De La Salle had them down 14-0. And it seemed when Centennial tried to come to life, DLS stomped them. It got to 28-0 mid way in the 2nd qtr before Centennial, that proverbial powerhouse got a score. 28-7 halftime score for De La Salle.

I had predicted to a group on the forum for that game, I expected DLS to score close to 50 points. I made no prediction for the other team other than saying they will lose the game and by a blow out.

I won't keep you waiting one more minute. DLS whipped them 48-28 and in the waning seconds, Cent managed it's last score and the game was over by that time.

They had no TV feed and the audio feed was terrible and not working right. Maybe the redirect root kit I picked up caused that. But others also said the audio stunk. I hear that some cable firm did put it on TV. I saw bits of the game on my late night news. De La Salle was super powerful and it looked from TV like they beat the hell out of Centennial.

Coach may retire by the end of this year. I sure hope not for the kids sake who have not yet played for the finest ever team program this nation has ever seen.

Bar none, the records set by De La Salle are so high in the sky, even teams like Don Bosco Prep of NJ, a fine program, will not ever attain the lofty platform owned by only one team.

De La Salle Spartans. During the final 3 playoff games, DLS has averaged 49 pts on offense and 16 pts per game against them. Mind you, those final games were against teams that had not lost a game till the final one. Those other teams all typically scored close to 50 pts per game. But not against De La Salle.

And for a small school funded by parents, not too bad I would say. Books have been published about this program.

I have personally watched them play a dozen times since the early 90s. I know, not a lot for that period. I watched them play during the streak of 151 straight wins.

And De La Salle plays at large teams. Teams as far away as Florida and Don Bosco of New Jersey to teams in Hawaii. CA some snort, plays less than good football. So why can't teams from the other areas beat our teams? I wish you guys would examine the record of Centennial who lost big. They came in suffering one loss to another powerhouse in S. Cal. De La Salle ended at 15 wins and no losses. A new record for CA.

OK, it may seem like bragging by me. It is not. I simply think the team and coach has earned this praise.

I did not go to high school there. And the high school I played for has locked up with De La Salle a few times and always got blown out. Even when Jack Del Rio a pro coach played at Hayward, they got the hell beat out of them if they played De La Salle.

DeLaSalle is a private school that can admit who they want. They have no attendance boundaries or restrictions. They can also waive tuition costs for talented athletes.
This gives DLS a huge advantage over public schools that can not recruit athletes. Nor do they have limits on athletic spending.
The DLS coach earns a huge salary as well as endorsement money.

RAW, didn't you already make a thread about the DLS coach? Why didn't you post this in that thread?

Bob Ladouceur (born July 3, 1954) is an American football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football) coach. He began coaching the De La Salle High Spartans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_La_Salle_High_School_(Concord,_California)) in Concord, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concord,_California) in 1979, when he was twenty-five years old. He took over a team that had never enjoyed a winning season since the school's founding in 1965 and turned it into a perennial winner. From 1992 to 2004, he guided the team to 12-consecutive undefeated seasons, setting a national winning streak (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winning_streak_(sports)) record for high school football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school_football) of 151 consecutive wins—a record matched in amateur sports only by the 159 game winning streak of Passaic High School (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passaic_High_School) in men's basketball. Ladouceur was enshrined to the National High School Hall of Fame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_High_School_Hall_of_Fame) in 2001. His team has topped the USA Today (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_Today) rankings five times and he is a three time coach of the year. Entering 2013, his career record was 399–25-3. His .934 winning percentage is a record among coaches with 200 or more wins. Ladouceur is all-time winningest coach in California high school football's and has led the De La Salle Spartan football program to:

My point is not to be mean to Notre Dame who got the buttons kicked out of them by alabama.

Alabama lost a game if you remember.

So they can be defeated.

But they rolled Notre Dame. 42-14 and the media stated the game was not that close.

Somehow the BCS messed up.

Maybe we will get to a play off system.

I think they may be working on one.

We may later see the kids play a few more games and let the best team come out on top.

I thought that perhaps Stanford could give them a go. Stanford wax very tough on Notredame and but for a call by the refs, denying Stanford a touchdown, the game might have been won by Stanford and they would have played Alabama.

Can Stanford beat Alabama?

I don't know.

It would have been fun to find out.
