Tyr, aboutime and others, you should be ashamed.

YOUR anti Islam campaigning translates into deaths at the hands of people driven insane by hate speech campaigns against Muslims. And it's not just Muslims who are the victims either. Anyone with brown skin, a beard, or a turban is at risk of attack because of this.

On the evening of December 27, an Indian immigrant to America named Sunando Sen was pushed by a stranger onto the subway tracks (http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20121227/sunnyside/man-struck-killed-by-7-train-sunnyside-officials-say) in New York City and struck and killed by an oncoming train. Sen had called New York home for years, and after years of hard work and struggle had recently managed to achieve his lifelong goal of opening a small business (http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20121228/woodside/man-fatally-pushed-front-of-7-train-had-just-opened-his-own-business) of his own, a copy shop in Upper Manhattan.
His roommate, MD Khan expressed shock at the death of his friend, a soft spoken man who liked to stay up late watching comedy shows and listening to music: "He was so nice, gentle and quiet… It's broken my heart."
The following day, the NYPD announced the arrest of Erika Menendez, a 31-year-old woman who had been spotted on security footage fleeing the scene after Sen had been pushed. Upon being detained and taken to a 112th Precinct police station for questioning, Menendez confessed to Sen's murder and revealed as her motivation a desire to commit violence against Muslims. As she told detectives (http://www.odt.co.nz/news/world/240887/subway-pusher-charged-murder-hate-crime):

"I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims… Ever since 2001 when they put down the Twin Towers, I've been beating them up."

Sunando Sen was not a Muslim, but as a brown-skinned foreigner living in the United States, he was targeted and killed in an act of hate which is the by-product of an ongoing campaign of bigotry and demonisation against Muslims living in America.
Muslim-Americans, as well as Hindus (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2002/09/14/AR2006031501323.html), Sikhs (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/aug/08/sikhs-targeted-anti-muslim-extremists) and others who purportedly "look Muslim" have been humiliated (http://www.islamophobia-watch.com/islamophobia-watch/2012/2/1/florida-muslim-woman-refused-service-at-gas-station.html),assaulted (http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/08/19/a-quiet-campaign-of-violence-against-american-muslims.html) and in many cases murdered (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/21/mark-stroman-execution-texas_n_905579.html) by individuals often galvanised to violence by politicians and media figures who have enthusiastically engaged in public hatemongering (http://www.salon.com/2011/03/03/hatemongering/) against the Muslim community in the country.
Anti-Muslim violence increases

The 9/11 attacks precipitated a surge in hate crimes, but even as the events themselves recede further into history, the level of hatred and violence directed at Muslim communities is paradoxically increasing. Within the past month, in New York alone, police have suspected racial hatred as being the motive behind several crimes.

This includes a string of murders specifically targeting Middle Eastern storekeepers (http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/middle-eastern-shopkeepers-scared-lives-article-1.1204187) in Brooklyn, the last of whom, a 78-year old Iranian immigrant named Rahmatollah Vahidipour, was shot to death (http://abcnews.go.com/US/fbi-profiler-york-city-serial-killings/story?id=17761875) while closing his boutique and whose lifeless body was then dragged to a backroom and covered over with merchandise from his store.
Within the same week as Vahidipour's murder another Muslim man was viciously beaten (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/queens-man-70-beaten-apparent-hate-attack-article-1.1210944) by two men who preceded their attack by asking him whether he was "a Hindu or a Muslim", while another man was stabbed several times outside of a mosque in a random attack by an assailant who screamed "I'm going to kill you Muslim (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2235073/Ahmad-Bashir-Muslim-man-stabbed-bitten-grisly-hate-crime-attack-outside-mosque.html)", while repeatedly plunging a knife into his victims' body.

Far from being aberrations, these incidents are in line with national statistics which show anti-Muslim violence in America nearing record highs (http://thinkprogress.org/security/2012/12/10/1312341/hate-crimes-against-muslims-remain-near-decade-high/), a trend which comes in tandem with highly public campaigns against mosque construction as well as fear-mongering by politicians and media figures regarding alleged plots by Muslim-Americans to override the constitution and impose Islamic law on the country (http://www.salon.com/2012/08/21/gop_embraces_anti_sharia/).
The US election cycle also saw Muslims used as convenient targets for politicians seeking office, with one example being incumbent Illinois House of Representatives Republican Joe Walsh who told a cheering crowd at a campaign rally that "Muslims are here trying to kill Americans everyday (http://www.salon.com/2012/08/09/walsh_muslims_are_trying_to_kill_americans/)", before making a baseless and highly incendiary claim that radical Islam had "infiltrated" the Chicago suburbs and that Muslims there were planning an attack that would "make 9/11 look like child's play".
While working the crowd into hysterics was a convenient campaign strategy for Walsh, just days later the Muslim community experienced the consequences of his rhetoric. A man opened fire on an Illinois mosque (http://www.examiner.com/article/shots-fired-at-chicago-area-mosque-suspect-charged) while it was packed with hundreds of congregants for Ramadan. The next day, another mosque was hit with an acid bomb (http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Bomb-Thrown-at-Lombard-Islamic-School-166042736.html)thrown at a window while worshippers had gathered for night services.
Despite these attacks against Illinois Muslims in the wake of his statements, Walsh steadfastly refused to apologise for his rhetoric demonising the Muslim-Americans and instead doubled-down (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/15/joe-walsh-radical-islam_n_1778971.html) on his blanket accusations against them, a reflection of the mainstream acceptability of anti-Muslim rhetoric by political figures in the US today.
Indeed the use of Muslims as a punching bag by opportunistic politicians seeking a minority group to scapegoat has become a regular feature (http://www.juancole.com/2012/09/demonizing-muslims-and-the-new-mccarthyism-bacevich.html) of American political life which shows no signs of abating, despite the "trickle-down" effect by which this bigotry is now manifesting itself in real violence against innocent Muslim-Americans on a regular basis.
Behind this hatemongering lies a deep cynicism, as leading anti-Muslim politicians such as Newt Gingrich who have warned of "stealth jihad" and other nefarious plots by Muslims in America were within recent years helping facilitateSharia-compliant finance programmes (http://www.salon.com/2011/06/08/newt_gingrich_muslims/) in the country and who maintained notably cordial relations with prominent Muslim leaders.

Political hatemongering
With Muslim-bashing becoming politically fashionable in recent years, politicians such as Gingrich have markedly changed their tune and it has been to the detriment of Muslim-Americans, as well as to the general level of social cohesion and tolerance in the country.

In addition to political hatemongering, the past several years have seen a highly organised and well-funded group (http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/08/26/304306/islamophobia-network/) of anti-Muslim activists who have been sponsoring campaigns targeting Muslims across the country.
Leading figures in this movement such as Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer have led a crusade to vilify Muslims throughout the country and to exclude them from public life through campaigns of smears and hate-mongering which have cast Muslim-Americans as an insidious fifth column within the country.
Their views have gotten considerable popular attention, and thanks to a documented network of funders and media associates they have managed to bring their message to people across the United States.
In the past few months, a major controversy erupted when Geller's anti-Muslim organisation sponsored the placement of Islamophobic advertisements (http://www.policymic.com/articles/15415/pam-geller-anti-muslim-subway-ads-muslims-welcome-debates-on-islam-but-not-demonization) at major subway stations in New York as well as in other cities across the country.
Some advertisements depicted pictures of the 9/11 attacks (http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2012/12/anti-muslim-ads-911.html) with verses from the Quran superimposed, while others called Muslims "savages" (http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Society/2012/0921/Anti-Muslim-groups-ad-in-NYC-subway-calls-jihad-savage.-Is-now-a-good-time) and implored people to "fight Jihad". While the campaign has been challenged by many liberal commentators, including one infamous incident in which Egyptian-American activist Mona Eltahawy was arrested (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/26/activist-new-york-anti-muslim-poster) for attempting to cover a sign with pink spray paint, they continue to run across the country and to spread a message of indiscriminate, vitriolic hatred towards Muslim-Americans in a manner unlikely to be tolerated were it to pertain to any other minority group.
While correlation does not necessarily imply causation, the question must be asked - what effect do advertisements such as these have on the psyches' of people such as Erika Menendez? Was Sunando Sen, a law-abiding, hardworking immigrant who had given his life to achieving the American dream and who was pushed to his death by a woman who "hated Muslims" a direct victim of this campaign of bigotry? That he lost his life on the same subway system which for months has played host to hateful, incendiary advertisements such as Geller's is a tragic irony but is in many ways the natural result of a national culture of anti-Muslim bigotry that has become mainstream in both politics and popular culture.
The sad, inescapable truth is that Sen will likely not be the last victim of the accelerating phenomena of violence against Muslims in the United States - the only question today is how far into the darkness America must travel before it decides to take a stand against it.

Jafar .... yes, this person seems to be insane, and seems to have been driven insane by the 9/11 bombings. Are the terrorists killing Americans in the name of their god insane, and if so, who is to blame for their insanity?

Why blame US!?! We didn't do it to you. Terrorists did it. Islam overwhelmingly condemns 9/11 in every way.

I am Muslim. I am not a crazed terrorist. I don't deserve to be vilified, because I am a peaceful, law abiding citizen like the vast majority of Muslims. When your people, especially politicians pandering to the lowest common denominator, keep telling everyone that Muslims are trying to take over and destroy your country and any one of us could be the next Bin Laden, it leads to a lot of suffering of innocent people.

Stop it.

Look at yourself. You are condemning everyone who isn't a Muslim for the actions of this insane person. You say that she went crazy listening to people who hate Muslims. Guess what, Jafar? If you want us to speak up about the anti-Muslim sentiments in this country, then you (meaning Muslims) need to be more vocal towards those factions of Islam that are brainwashing people to believe it's OK to kill non-believers.

I do believe there are more people who call themselves Muslim around the world preaching hatred than what you see or hear here in America.

Yeah, right.

Which is why Islam wanted to do a celebration dance in the endzone by erecting a mosque at Ground Zone.

This little bit of anti-Muslim violence just came over the wires... it's not in America though, so I guess it doesn't count.

Seven charity workers, six of them women, have been shot dead in north-west Pakistan, police say.

The women, some of them teachers, were attacked near a health and education community centre. A male colleague died with them. All were Pakistani citizens.

Their vehicle came under gunfire near the centre run by Pakistani charity Ujala, or Light.

The incident happened in the Swabi district close to a road connecting Peshawar to the eastern city of Lahore.

"Four men came on two motorbikes. They attacked their van. They opened fire to the right and left of the van and fled on their motorbikes," Swabi district police chief Abdul Rashid Khan said, according to AFP.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack although militants in the conservative Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province oppose female education and have attacked female students and their schools.

Last month, in a series of attacks, gunmen killed nine health workers taking part in a national polio vaccination drive.

A crazy woman doing a single act like that in no ways excuses or compensates for the organised and well taught murdering actions of muslims around the world. Additionally , please show were I've advocated for anybody to go out into the streets to harm any muslim here. You can not do so.
Sure, I am anti-muslim because Islam teaches world domination by force! That includes me and mine. I'm a bit particular about threats coming to myself and my family. I do not ignore them and have in my younger days often been known to go out and hunt down the person making such threats to settle the matter. Should it start here as it has elsewhere in the world, I will strike back in a most efficient and deadly way. Yet would never harm anybody without first being given just cause. Innocent people are not to be molested. Just that simple in my book.-Tyr

That being said i think we need to look at her underlying reason for being pushed to this thought process.. I mean after all she had to have been pushed to this point with no other recourse don't you think??? We need to understand why she felt she could only react with violence instead of diplomacy.

do you see how ridiculous that sounds and yet YOU do that EVERY time a Muslim attacks ANYONE.. So YOU STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did, actually.

The rest of you muslims haven't stood up and weeded out the lunatics in your midst. You haven't done anything but given lip service (and then only grudgingly when confronted on it).

No, you have continued to blame ANYONE and EVERYONE else for what's happened, and then finally you will start talking about your "palestinians" and Israel as justification for savage muslim behavior.

Police your own like a responsible group of people and this wouldn't happen.

It is you and those like you who are to blame, ultimately.

Nice spin, Slick. This is why you shouldn't trust your muslim brethren to tell you the whole truth.

I did a little research, here's the info on the subway pusher :

There were ample warnings over the years concerning Ms. Menendez. In 2003, according to the police, she attacked another stranger, Daniel Conlisk, a retired firefighter, as he took out his garbage in Queens.
“I was covered with blood,” Mr. Conlisk recalled on Sunday. “She was screaming the whole time.”
Just two months earlier, Ms. Menendez was accused of hitting and scratching another man in Queens. She was also arrested on cocaine possession charges the same year.
Since then, according to friends and people familiar with her record, she has been cared for at mental health facilities in Manhattan and Queens as her problems worsened.
Between 2005 and February this year, the police responded five times to calls from relatives reporting difficulties in dealing with Ms. Menendez, reportedly stemming from her failure to take certain medication, according to a law enforcement official who was not authorized to speak publicly about her medical history. In one of these instances, in 2010, she threw a radio at one of the responding officers, the official said.
“She has been in and out of institutions,” another law enforcement official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Within the past year, she was discharged from Bellevue, according to a person with knowledge of her medical history.

Not quite the same as your buddies at Al Jazeera would have you believe, is it?

She was a criminally insane person that had attacked other Americans randomly.

Your boys at Al Jazeera should contact NYPD to help solve the murders, since they clearly have more info than the cops investigating do.

2 of the murder victims were Jews.

1 was a muslim.

All were elderly with no video surveillance in their stores, and were unarmed. The cops don't know yet if they were killed for money or for other reasons, but money was missing in at least one of the murders, according to receipts.

The FBI is working this case diligently; they'll get the killer(s). See how a civilized group of people react to such actions? Impressive, isn't it?

http://abcnews.go.com/US/fbi-profiler-york-city-serial-killings/story?id=17761875#.UOMixm_Afap

Let's see what else is bogus from your heroes at Al-Jazeera in your little article, shall we?

Stay tuned, young Jafar.

Being here in NY, I've had the displeasure of reading quite a bit about this "lady". She is simply bonkers. Yep, she did claim she was pushing him because she thought he was a Muslim though.

But here's the big difference between the USA and so many other places.... She's been charged with a hate crime, based on her own words about Muslims. Now her penalty will be 2x as tough as it would have been. She likely won't be breathing the same air as us or seeing the same daylight as us, probably forever. AND, probably about 98% of our great nation thinks she is nutso and speaks out against her crime and wants her punished to the fullest extent possible.

I can't help but notice that Al Jazeera is backing up some of their claims with links to Salon and ThinkProgress... anti-American dirtbags at best. We can safely dismiss these from reasonable discussion.

Next.

Examiner, eh? Started to research them, and here's something that stopped me cold :
The Website Ahead Contains Malware!Google Chrome has blocked access to www.examiner.com for now.
Even if you have visited this website safely in the past, visiting it now is very likely to infect your computer with malware.
Malware is malicious software that causes things like identity theft, financial loss, and permanent file deletion. Learn more

Well, that certainly doesn't seem like something a reputable news site would have under the 'About Us' link, does it?

Here's a site that is a tad more... reputable, with the same incident :

(CBS/AP) CHICAGO - Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly shooting a pellet rifle at a mosque in a northern Chicago suburb on Friday night, authorities said.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57492050-504083/david-conrad-51-arrested-in-chicago-mosque-air-rifle-shooting/

So, this villain took an air gun and shot pellets at a brick mosque.

Stupid? Yes. Definitely. But not quite what Al Jazeera and Examiner would have you believe happened, is it, Jafar? "Opened Fire on an Illinois Mosque"? LOL

Next.

An Acid Bomb thrown at a mosque. Not much info on that one, but here's what I turned up:

Meanwhile, police in west suburban Lombard were trying to determine the origin of a soda bottle filled with household chemicals that apparently was thrown at an Islamic school Sunday night, also during Ramadan prayers. The crude, homemade explosive scared worshippers because of its loud noise but did not injure anyone, Lombard police said.

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-08-14/news/ct-met-mosque-shooting-20120814_1_muslim-education-center-mosque-property-american-islamic-relations

A soda bottle that had everyday kitchen chemicals in it that made a loud popping noise when it hit. That doesn't sound very terroristy, either. Kind of sounds like kids (yes, stupid kids).

I don't know, Jafar, this sounds like some serious spin from your heroes over at Al-Jazeera. Don't you think?

Let's see what else we can discern from your post and get to the bottom of these very serious allegations.

Well, again, young Jafar, this isn't quite accurate. Here's what Walsh said :

“One thing I’m sure of is that there are people in this country – there is a radical strain of Islam in this country – it’s not just over there – trying to kill Americans every week. It is a real threat, and it is a threat that is much more at home now than it was after 9/11,” Walsh said.

I don't think any thinking person would say that there aren't any radical muslims plotting something evil in America, right now.

Would you disagree with this? Only time will tell, of course, but I guarantee that within the next year we'll have yet another incident where the FBI, CIA or local cops uncover yet another plot to kill Americans by muslims right here in the USA.

In any event, Joe Walsh was defeated soundly in the last election by a woman who is a 20 year veteran of the US Army, who had her legs blown off in combat as she was performing a mission in Iraq in a helicopter.

Newt Gingrich has had access to a ton of Top Secret information due to his many years as one of the most powerful people in the US Government.

If Newt says there is a threat from muslims, I'd have to say there's probably a threat from muslims.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that every American in the USA would agree that there is a threat from muslims, even if Newt and Walsh hadn't stated the obvious.

I'd even go so far as to say that you, young Jafar, if you were honest, would agree that there is a threat from muslims to Americans.

Other than pandering to their muslim audience, I really don't see what Al Jazeera was doing with that whole paragraph.

We already know that there are muslims that are a threat to Americans, right here in America. We've all known this since 9/11/01, and it wasn't Newt or Walsh that enlightened us.

It was muslims.

Ah, yes. The posters in the subways incident.

First amendment applies, we all see things that we may or may not agree with, but we won't stone anyone to death or cut their heads off on video for it. It's the civilized thing to do.

As far as "savages", I have been known to refer to radical muslims as savages. I still do.

You may quote me on that.

Mona Eltahawy was arrested after committing vandalism. It's against the law to vandalize, and I watched the whole thing on YouTube. Just because she was a muslim does not excuse her behavior - I know you muslims like to excuse law breaking for whatever reason, but we have laws here in the USA that apply to everyone - not just a few based on their religion. It's fair that way, and keeps things civilized.

Finally, Murtaza Hussein wraps up his thoughtful article with his suggestion that Ms. Menendez was driven to yet another act of Criminally Insane behavior by the previous list of sketchy half-truths and massive distortions.

We already know that Menendez is a nutjob and should have been permanently locked up years ago for her many attacks on ordinary Americans, as the article I conveniently provided for your perusal will show.

I can't help but be suspicious of this story simply because anti American sentiment has been on the rise in Muslim countries for how many decades? I fail to see how this would be an unexpected result especially since 911 and other events that have occured.

Did he really take his cue from Gabby and run from the thread after such a bold opening post?

MtnBiker. Assad has an Army similar to what Saddam in Iraq had for more than 30 years. Protection out the YING-YANG, and those who surround him know. If they betray him. THEY DIE TOO!

He doesn't care if his people are Muslim. Power is stronger than a few people out of a few Billion.

And, since Obama/America hasn't lifted a finger to stop him. He's got an OPEN CHECKBOOK, or Unlimited Credit to survive, with the blessings of his Brotherhood Chum Obama.

Well, again, young Jafar, this isn't quite accurate. Here's what Walsh said :

I don't think any thinking person would say that there aren't any radical muslims plotting something evil in America, right now.

Would you disagree with this? Only time will tell, of course, but I guarantee that within the next year we'll have yet another incident where the FBI, CIA or local cops uncover yet another plot to kill Americans by muslims right here in the USA.

Maybe there is. Maybe there are some radical Christians, Jews, Atheists or Jedis doing the same too. Then again, you could say that these Muslims and Christians who plot to kill innocents have renounced their faith by their actions. Islam, and as far as I know, Christianity cannot support the killing of innocent people.

Newt Gingrich has had access to a ton of Top Secret information due to his many years as one of the most powerful people in the US Government.

Newt Gingrich wears his Zionism on his sleeve for all to see. You would expect a man who says the Palestine never existed and that Palestinians are a manufactured people to have an anti Islamic agenda to push. And as we know, Zionists are not known for their truthfulness.

If Newt says there is a threat from muslims, I'd have to say there's probably a threat from muslims.

I'd say your actions overseas have garnered some attention from terrorists who wish to get revenge. Whether they call themselves Muslim or not is of no consequence. They are simply criminals and that's it.

The fact is that 99.999999% of Muslims in the US are peaceful, law abiding citizens who do not deserve to be harassed, attacked or killed. They certainly don't deserve to be vilified and demonised.

We already know that there are muslims that are a threat to Americans, right here in America. We've all known this since 9/11/01, and it wasn't Newt or Walsh that enlightened us.

It was muslims.

I disagree. Those who attacked you on 9/11, if the intelligence is to be believed were fare from Muslim and not just from their final act of murdering innocent people. Soon after 9/11, there was a mountain of condemnation from Muslims and Islamic Leaders and several fatwas against such terrorism all with copious evidence from Islamic scripture to point out that 9/11 was far from an Islamic act.

Looks like Jafar has pulled a Gabby. When the facts get to be too much - head for the hills!!

I'm discussing what happens inside a stable country. The USA. If you want to discuss body counts in war zones that the US has created or participated in, create another thread.
