He's supposed to announce tomorrow what action will be taken on guns. It's been said that 19 actions are on the table for his order. Here is the latest:

Obama to unveil broad gun plans Wednesday

President Obama will unveil a sweeping set of gun-control proposals at midday Wednesday, including an assault weapons ban, universal background checks and limits on the number of bullets that ammunition clips can hold, according to sources familiar with the plans.

The announcement, which press secretary Jay Carney said is scheduled for about 11:45 a.m. at the White House, is also expected to include a slate of up to 19 executive actions that the Obama administration can take on its own to attempt to limit gun violence.

And then to play on the fears and hearts instead of the facts:

Obama plans to surround himself with children during gun control announcement

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney announced this afternoon that President Obama will unveil a “concrete package” of gun control proposals including assault weapons bans, high capacity ammunition magazine bans, and closing loopholes on background checks.

Carney said that the president will be joined by Vice President Joe Biden as well as children who wrote to the president after the Newtown shootings.

“They will be joined by children around the country expressing their concerns about gun violence and school safety, along with their parents,” Carney confirmed.

New York Has Gun Deal, With Focus on Mental Ills

ALBANY — Gov.Andrew M. Cuomo and lawmakers agreed on Monday to a broad package of changes to gun laws that would expand the state’s ban on assault weapons and would include new measures to keep guns away from people with mental illnesses.

The state Senate, controlled by a coalition of Republicans and a handful of Democrats, approved the legislative package just after 11 p.m. by a lopsided vote of 43 to 18. The Assembly, where Democrats who have been strongly supportive of gun control have an overwhelming majority, planned to vote on the measure Tuesday.

Approval of the legislation would make New York the first state to act in response to the mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., last month.

Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat, had pressed lawmakers to move quickly in response to Newtown, saying, “the people of this state are crying out for help.” And the Legislature proceeded with unusual haste: Monday was the first full day of this year’s legislative session.

Texas Proposal: JAIL Any Federal Officials Trying to Enforce New Gun Restrictions in the State

A Texas lawmaker says he plans to file the Firearms Protection Act, which would make any federal laws that may be passed by Congress or imposed by Presidential order which would ban or restrict ownership of semi-automatic firearms or limit the size of gun magazines illegal in the state, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Republican Rep. Steve Toth says his measure also calls for felony criminal charges to be filed against any federal official who tries to enforce the rule in the state.

"If a federal official comes into the state of Texas to enforce the federal executive order, that person is subject to criminal prosecution," Toth told 1200 WOAI's Joe Pags Tuesday. He says his bill would make attempting to enforce a federal gun ban in Texas punishable by a $50,000 fine and up to five years in prison.

Toth says he will file his measure after speaking with the state's Repubicans Attorney General, Greg Abbott, who has already vowed to fight any federal measures which call for restrictions on weapons possession.

Toth concedes that he would welcome a legal fight over his proposals.

Gingrich: 'If Gun Control Works, Chicago Ought to Be Safe'

Gingrich revealed that he's been urging House Republicans to hold hearings about gun control in Chicago, President Obama's hometown and "the murder capital of the United States."

"Well, I think it's amazing that we're having all this discussion about gun control: The president's hometown, Chicago, is the murder capital of the United States. Over 500 people were killed there last year. Vice President Biden doesn't seem to want to go there. I'm trying to get the House Republicans to hold hearings there. It's illegal to have all the guns that are killing people in Chicago. If gun control works, Chicago ought to be safe," said Gingrich.

Birth control. Democrats know that abstenence always works.

But they want no part of that. They skip over the cause of births to attack it the wrong way.

So, given they think strange thoughts, why would I or you expect them to think of stopping the killing of innocents in any logical way?

It is not gun control they seek, it is people control. Trouble is, only a few people can kill as they did in the school and theater.

The solution lies in treating mental illness, not in trying to tell the rest of us the guns we may use or the ammo or the clips we may purchase.

Those are fine when your goal is to remove freedom.

I think most of us have tried and tried to look at it as if that child was our child that died that morning.

We are not heartless. We know the grief. Most if not all of us have lost a dear loved one.

We know that given enough time, not one of us survives this land we live on. We all go to the mystery place some call heaven.

So, we have empathy. We only solve problems the right way though and in ways to not remove your freedom.
