Decided to camp with the kids this weekend. We actually had a pretty good set up with the three tents. My husbands brother and his girls were with us also.
This was my first time camping in a tent, and I made it until the birds came out, then I went inside.
We were in the back yard since the gampground near by was full. We needed a dry run anyway to see how all the kids would do. They did great!!!!
It's off to a real campsite in 2 weeks!!

Thanks, it's a lot to cut in the summer though.
I've always said I live in the middle of nowhere.

Tell your husband to never have more grass than his wife can mow in an hour.

Camping can be sooooooo much work that you need a vacation after.
Back yard is a good test of somethings but it's not 'real' camping.
No packing, unpacking, repacking, realizing you forgot 'something' when you need it most etc. Best to keep it as simple as possible.
It will be fun when you really go though. It makes great memories.

Nope, this is what 14yr old boys are good for, especially when he won't stop telling me he's bored. ;)

The kids are excited, me not so much. I am glad we did the backyard thing to get an idea of what it was going to be like with everyone.
My husband used to love camping when he was growing up.
The campground is only 5-8 miles from our house so if we forget something it's close.
