When Matt Yglesais gets it, perhaps others will too:

Starting a Business Is a Huge Pain I’ve been to three offices, filed five forms, spent $200, lost a day of work—and I’m not even close to getting the simple license I need. By Matthew Yglesias (http://www.slate.com/authors.matthew_yglesias.html)|Posted Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at 6:30 AM ET

Last week, having read my own writing (http://www.slate.com/articles/business/moneybox/2012/04/buy_a_house_it_s_much_cheaper_than_renting.html) about how it’s cheaper to buy a house than rent one in most markets, I decided to take my own advice. My wife and I bought a new place, and instead of selling our old condo, we’re going to rent it out. And thus I became a small-business man.

Or, rather, I’m becoming one. Entrepreneurship—even on the smallest and most banal scale—turns out to be a time-consuming pain in the you-know-what. My personal inconveniences aren’t a big deal, but in the aggregate, the difficulty of launching a business is a problem and it may be a more important one as time goes on.

Yes, I remember a story about no less a liberal than Walter Mondale himself coming to this very realization himself when he opened a bed & breakfast in New England somewhere.

Criticizing regulations themselves is fair. Criticizing those whose job it happens to be to enforce them is unfair.

Sort of like; If you disagreed with the war in Iraq and now you hate the soldiers because they're there.

Why not? It worked when they did it too the Vietnam veterans.. Such a damn disgrace too . I remember back then knocking the living hell out of several fools that bad-mouthed the returning vets!! And I was only 17/18 at the time, such a young "activist"-now that I look back upon my actions.--Tyr
