Plan B is getting a lot more play at New York City public schools than was initially reported, according to internal records obtained by the New York Post.

While the city announced its plan to distribute the "morning-after pill" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/24/morningafter-pills-availa_n_1908913.html) to female students at 13 public schools in September, the program has since spread to at least 40 "school-based health centers." During the 2011-2012 school year, 12,721 doses of Plan B were handed out (http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/city_secret_school_birth_control_39jedC7GufuBW20ps 7nvZI) to students as young as 14, the New York Posts reports.

The numbers are surprising, since city officials said only 567 girls had received the emergency contraceptive as of September, according to the report.

Why do New York parents allow this?

you just don't give my kids DRUGS of ANY KIND without permission. Much less something as controversial as an abortion pill.

New York is insane.

New York is insane.

Which is why this thread doesn't make any sense. Things happen in NYC that don't happen in the rest of civilized society.
In our public schools, you can't even give a kid aspirin without written parental consent.
New York City is broken and most likely beyond repair.
