Taxes are the easiest to understand indicator of freedom, because as well all know, communism is 100% taxation. But what taxes? Governments are masters of hiding taxes in fees, fines and corporate taxes, so let's look at what they spend and what they have in debt. These they cannot hide.

I used data from this source (http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/compare_state_spending_2013bZ0a)and then put it into a spreadsheet to analyze spending per capita:

Those numbers don't appear to account for income in each state. Eight grand in NH is much cheaper than eight grand in NC. Try earning six figures in NC.

Although fleeting, the state of bliss is the best one to reside in..
Sex or drugs being the most common path.. ;)

That's what my boss in Boston told me when I moved to Syracuse, NY. But, my rent was cut in half and I made 25% more at work. Then when I moved to NC 11 years later the home prices were about the same, the taxes were less than 1/3 and I got another 25% raise.

The United State of "Confusion"...stretches from California to Maine, and Montana to Hawaii...Geographically speaking.

Cost of living doesn't matter in a Socialist society where Everything You own is no longer yours. But those who have nothing, get whatever they want...because You pay for it.

When you compare earning power versus expenses, it's hard to beat NH. It's amazing how home/rent prices jump by being five miles inside of Mass. because it's hard to build in Mass.

Kinda doubt that a guy that uses a word "unnoticeable" makes six figs. He can't do math either, because the marginal tax rate in that range is 9.3%.

Caught April in another lie.

Sure thing Mister Obama. They are waiting for you to get into the Limo for the trip up to the Capitol building where you can tell more lies.

The math works smarty pants-- If he made $129,000 at a 9.3% tax rate, he'd pay ~$12,000 in taxes.

Excellent! Never stop looking for the BBD (bigger, better deal). Except for one job, which lasted less than 1 year, I've never done that. I've made two major moves since then, the first for love and the second for a better life for the children that that love created. When I moved each time I got a better job but only because I had hit the glass ceiling at my old job.

I can think of several; all of them oil operators. Union too; the real kicker is their union contracts actually net them less money (almost half) in bonuses. They're idiots; but they make a grip of coin.

The reason why money buys more in New Hampshire is that you have to live in New Hampshire.
It costs more to live in Southern California because it is SoCal. We have the best of everything. We even have conservatives. Though we are trying out best to get rid of them.

Bay Area is probably the highest cost of living in CA. Gabby, you should move up here ... lots of wine and hardly any conservatives.
