HOW ABOUT CONTRIBUTING A MOTIVATIONAL THOUGHT OR WORDS OF WISDOM THAT COULD POSSIBLY HELP ANOTHER HERE EACH DAY?

No time is wrong to do the right thing.

It is never wrong to fight against instead of yielding to evil.

Ok, so on my first contribution to this thread I did a double..;) Call it a generous offering...-Tyr

.. Hah ! In my case, how VERY true !!! And I did .. decades ago.

Something comes to mind, but I'm not sure it can possibly be 'motivational'. But it's food for thought all the same (and Lefties will love it).

Imagine what the world would be like if every human truly understood that freedom was worth fighting for?
Then imagine how quickly the tyrants would cease to exist. OH, so you now say everybody believing in freedom there would be no tyrants!
Belief in freedom does not conquer man's basic evil nature. Greed and lust for power are not solved merely by freedom existing but freedom does allow us the choice.
The choice to fight for what is right. To do less is dishonorable.-Tyr

V4R. Most Americans have no idea who Sun is, nor have they ever heard of his work. But, it's almost a perfect bet.
Students at Annapolis, and West Point know of him, and have read his ART...
As, I suspect. Many, if not all of our present, and past FLAG RANK officers in all branches of our military.

Sadly. I also suspect our present resident of the White House has combined some of the tactics with deadly
forms of Political warfare which has given him some success...hoping people like US...never mention, or share
Sun Tzu's work with common folk who are easily led by Obama into destroying their own life.

For those who may wonder. Here is a Link: http://suntzusaid.com/

Thought for the Day: Feb. 25th, 2013

It is now illegal for a Family to order a 2 liter bottle of soda with their Pizza in NYC.

so a Family of FIVE must buy FIVE 16oz bottles of soda with a Pizza instead of ONE 64oz bottle.

Five individual bottles of Pepsi = $1.75 each ($8.75 total)

One Sixty-four ounce Bottle = $ 3.50 Each

This is a product of the Liberal Nanny State here in the NYC area... now an average Family will pay 25% more for the same meal

How is NYC helping the little guy? Please tell me?

Here are some great quotes from Sir Winston Churchill (and he shares my birthday, so that's a plus! :) )

There is no such thing as a good tax.

Some see private enterprise as a predatory target to be shot, others as a cow to be milked, but few are those who see it as a sturdy horse pulling the wagon.

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.

If you have ten thousand regulations, you destroy all respect for the law.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.

and finally... his best one (which is very appropriate to the times we live in)

We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and the oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
and third by experience, which is the bitterest. - Confucius

Experience, the bitterest is so very true. Some lessons may only be taught by having lived through the heartache and misery to reflect upon it with a older and wiser brain. I admit that to having learned a damn lot the "hard way" as my Dad so often put it.
I can tell you that after having experienced it and learned the hard way one never forgets it. It becomes like a hot iron branded into the mind's eye. Makes one as hard as granite in resolve very often. Which can be good or bad depending upon how one uses the life experience .-Tyr

“Law and religion are two forces which govern the conduct of men. At times they act as handmaids to each other. At other times they act as check and counter-check. Of the two forces, Law is personal while religion is impersonal. Law being personal it is capable of being unjust and iniquitous. Lots of Sun Tzu. Funny since started reading the Art of War again last week.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. (Proverbs 21:9)

Very true.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:5-6)
