Why all the uproar over cutting less then 3% of the bloated Federal budget? I am so tired of hearing the doom and gloom crap from Dems and the liberal media over these minor cuts

We are broke and so many under informed voters want to keep on spending borrowed money



A recent Bloomberg Government (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/bloomberg-government/) study reveals that Democratic congressional districts will be harder hit than Republican districts with the March 1 sequester. It stands to reason that conscientious Democrats might be leaping for compromise. Or maybe not.

“The Republican-led House has already voted twice to replace the president’s sequester with targeted spending cuts based on real budget priorities,” pointed out Rep. And, as the clock is ticking towards his devastating sequester, President Obama has failed to put forward a plan to prevent it. Why? Because President Obama and Senate (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/senate/) Democrats see his sequester as an opportunity to push through another tax increase. If you’re feeling a sense of deja vu, you’re not alone. After all, the ink has barely dried on the tax hikes the president pushed through in January,” the lawmaker continues.

“No one in Washington (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/george-washington/) should be talking about raising your taxes when the federal government (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/federation/) is still spending billions of dollars on things like giving people free cellphones. And it is a shame that our commander in chief is using the military he leads as leverage in an ideological crusade for higher taxes. These games have got to stop.”

House Democratic leaders are urging their rank-and-file members to use next week’s recess to hold press conferences and other events humanizing the negative effects of sequestration alongside senior citizens, small business owners, police officers and teachers.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office sent members back to their districts Friday, armed with a two-page memo (http://images.politico.com/global/2013/02/15/130215_event_suggestions.html) suggesting a variety of press conference and roundtable location ideas to help demonstrate what might happen if Congress can’t reach a deal by the March 1 deadline and the automatic spending cuts go into effect.

Members are being urged to meet with college academics, special education teachers, mental health professionals, medical researchers and food safety advocates. “Invite the press,” Pelosi’s office said in the memo obtained by POLITICO.

Democrats also got a one-page set of talking points (http://images.politico.com/global/2013/02/15/130215_talking_points.html), urging them to slam Republicans for being “irresponsible” for not reaching an agreement on the spending cuts before the Presidents Day recess, as well as a state-by-state breakdown (http://images.politico.com/global/2013/02/15/130215_state_by_state.html) of potential job losses from sequestration.

House Republicans have a similar PR strategy for the recess to talk about the spending cuts on a local level, said Riva Litman, a spokeswoman for the House GOP Conference.

“Just like any district work period, our members will be taking a big national message [this time sequestration] and making it relevant to their local districts by hosting town halls, business roundtables, TV/radio interviews, etc.,” she said in an email.
