... WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THURSDAY...

* LOCATIONS... SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST NEW HAMPSHIRE.

* HAZARD TYPES... HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS... SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 6 INCHES... ALONG WITH AROUND A TRACE OF ICE. ABOVE 1200 FEET... SNOW MAY ACCUMULATE TO BETWEEN 8 AND 10 INCHES.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL MIX WITH SLEET AT TIMES. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL DURING TODAY INTO THIS EVENING... ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

* IMPACTS... SNOW COVERED ROADS WILL AFFECT THE MORNING... EVENING... AND THURSDAY MORNING COMMUTES. IN ADDITION... HEAVY WET SNOW WILL LIKELY CAUSE SOME TREE DAMAGE AND SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* VISIBILITIES... ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN AN AVERAGE OF 6 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD... OR FOR 8 OR MORE INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. TRAVEL WILL BE SLOW AT BEST ON WELL TREATED SURFACES... AND QUITE DIFFICULT ON ANY UNPLOWED OR UNTREATED SURFACES.

heard on the radio last week that before the water level returns to normal in the Great Lakes we need ten more FEET of snow.....personally I don't mind dry.....
