When I was at the Army Airfield, I talked to some Army guys in Heidelberg a lot. We handled air traffic from Heidelberg.

Anyway, I took my German girlfriend with me to Heidelberg and we had a wonderful German meal at a fine restaurant. I lived high on the hog since I earned a lot of money loaning money to troops.

I drove a TR4 by Triumph motors of England on this trip.

Oh, it was one of the few German city's the allies refused to bomb.

Hope you enjoy these photos.

A river runs through Heidelberg and if memory serves me, it is the Nekar River.

It was fun for me to see boats on the rivers there racing each other to get to locks on the rivers with cargo on the boats. To explain, the story I was told is that the locks handle few boats at one time thus a cargo boat captain saves time by getting to the lock first.

Heidelberg bridge to the side I spent time at for the most part.

This is where my remaining maternal relatives live now. Recognize the city?
