<article>Two Marines were shot and killed late Thursday at the Officer Candidate School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, and the suspected shooter, also a Marine, fatally shot himself inside a barracks on the base, authorities said.
The shooter gunned down a male Marine before seizing a woman and killing her and then himself, officials said. They declined to publicly discuss a possible motive in the attacks but said the incident was neither a terrorist incident nor an attempt to cause mass casualties.

Authorities at Quantico Marine base in Virginia say an active duty Marine is suspected of shooting to death a male and female colleague before killing himself.

But the action of the person BEFORE the shooting could tell a different picture, or a more complete picture. It's not just what he yelled. He was in communications with an Al Qaeda terror leader for some time before his actions. I suppose that's just a coincidence?

Btw, from what I recall, Hasan was in contact with the Al Qaeda leader from as early as 2002, and then it increased and they had a LOT of email exchanges between 2008 and 2009. Oh, that's right, it stopped because this terror attack was in 2009.

The reason I would label it terrorism is because I don't think he just snapped one day. I think this was a premeditated mass murder. His connections to Awlaki were clear, and he wanted to know about the afterlife, suicide attacks and such. He even wanted to know from Awlaki if it were OK that innocents were killed in an attack. "It sounds like code words," said Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, a military analyst at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies. "That he's actually either offering himself up or that he's already crossed that line in his own mind."

Other messages include questions, the official with access to the e-mails said, that include when is jihad appropriate, and whether it is permissible if there are innocents killed in a suicide attack.

"Hasan told Awlaki he couldn't wait to join him in the discussions they would having over non-alcoholic wine in the afterlife," the official said.
