View Full Version : Did Jesus’ face really appear on this shower wall?

I'm afraid that what this guy REALLY sees is probably filth, mildew or something similar. I don't think Jesus' return is destined to be on his shower wall! Probably just another seeking attention, or accidentally off their medications.

I'm sorry for such a hateful thread. :coffee:

Today, we covered the ongoing controversy surrounding the Shroud of Turin. After the story was published, a reader sent along a fascinating image that he claims appeared on his shower wall.

While the guy admitted that the mere suggestion that smudges on the shower wall look like Jesus’ (alleged) face on the Shroud of Turin would be viewed by many as silly, he nevertheless sent us some photos to show the purported phenomenon.

In a mini-montage he created, a green arrow points to the section of the wall in question

Looks like my old hippie buddy Cody from back in 1971..
He came to my hometown one dark Spring night and sold the wacky weed for about 5 months. He was very intelligent and quite the cut up character. Had a nice tent off in the woods and nobody ever discovered where or how he got his product to sell.
One Saturday morning he just disappeared leaving the tent and his few personal things there. , never to be seen or heard from again. We thought the cops killed him and buried the body somewhere. As he should have had a huge money stash from those all those sales! Now after seeing that pic it looks to be true. ;)
That's him alright, the spitting image too.-
Dude is a ghost...;)

I cannot recall any 'appearances' of Christ since the Ascension. Perhaps I'm missing something? On the other hand, there are literally thousands, if not tens of thousands of claims to having seen Mary. Most are discredited or at least not deemed worthy of attention. As Fr. Robert Barron expounds in his book, "Catholicsm," while no one can discredit all, the proof is in what follows. 'No one is paying attention in 2012 to the 'appearance' on the Kennedy Expressway viaduct." Howevver:

Then there are those that are. Our Lady of Guadalupe (http://youtu.be/j9QmxmZBSR4), that resulted in nearly all of Mexico being converted in less than 10 years, something the Church failed to do in over 100. Still, from all over the world they flock.

Then there is Lourdes. (http://www.piercedhearts.org/treasures/shrines/lourdes.htm) Still they come. Still it cannot be explained how a peasant girl was given such a message.

And Fatima. (http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20000626_message-fatima_en.html)
Many wonders if Catholics 'worship' Mary. Do they consider her a goddess? Not at all. She said, "Yes," to God, that is all and everything. Not only as the mother of God did she allow him to be all HE was meant to be, with one 'chastisement' from the 'child,' but she said, "Yes." For conception and to the Crucifixtion and to the Resurrection and Ascension. Never did she think any of it had to do with her, nor do those who pray to her. It was God's Will, as was the Assumption of her to heaven.

Mary's message is always the same: 'Trust in Jesus and seek peace.'

I am Roman Catholic. While I'm not much for 'miracles' and 'appearances' and such, I'm not prepared to say they are bogus.

When my oldest son was 3 or 4, the Virgin Mary was supposedly appearing in Conyers GA. So, since my then wife had family in the area, she talked me into a vacation to visit them, and the site of the apparent appearances.

There was a spot in a wooded area where a huge wooden cross had been erected. We visited, looked around, stayed for a prayer service. About 3 hours into our visit, my son was asleep in my arms, and we started back along the path through the trees and towards the car.

My son was sound asleep, but woke in an instant, just beofre the cross was out of view behind us, and started saying '1,2,3... 1,2,3'. Over and over... 1,2,3...1,2,3... and pointing back towards the cross. I asked him what was wrong. He gave me the same patient look you'd give a child when explaining something elementary for the 87th time... a mix of love an exasperation, and pointed again saying '1,2,3'. Only this time he was pointing above the cross, and slowly pointing higher and higher. I said 'angles?' He smiled, and went right back to sleep.

He has no memory of this now, even though we do occasionally discuss it.

I'd not be disputing the reality or the sublime. However, I think Barron's point that the 'real' has impact, no one really remembers the Mary on the Edens or Kennedy expressway. No impact. Lourdes? Guadalupe? Fatima? There are others, but not tens of thousands.

My fav on of these stories was of 'Mary' in Clearwater Florida.

James Randii went to this site to cast a scientific/rational eye on the virgin herself, which had been attracting religious folk for near a decade.

Anyways he reasoned pretty quickly when he arrived that the illusion was caused by the water sprinklers around the based of the building, covering the glass in a fine mist, that then refracts the water imperfectly (like a rainbow). This was confirmed when after the sprinklers had been on, Randii walked around the back of the building, to see men cleaning the glass, removing the illusion. As Dawkins later commented 'it is clear that someone decided that there's only room for one Mary in Clearwater' xD

*pic attached of clearwater*

For the OP, as with clearwater, what is more likely, a natural event/illusion caused by known physics? Much more likely, much.

My response was tongue in cheek, fucker! I don't really believe any of these stories where people see things, or think they see things, or make things and then proclaim to have seen things. :)

You never know, could be something in it, like today at work everyone was talking about this massive cock'n'balls shaped cloud overhead, most though it was a freak occurrence, or a coincidence, but i knew better, i knew it was my mate Jim, gracing us with his presence (:

He and gabby must be related.
All they have between them are equal shares of ignorance, stupidity, and hatred.

But best of all. They are PROUD of it.
