Wow, bombshell in McConnell bugging case (http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/04/wow-bombshell-in-mcconnell-bugging-case/)Posted by William A. Jacobson (http://legalinsurrection.com/author/bill/) Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 2:51pm http://w.sharethis.com/images/check-big.png

Source: Progress Kentucky Behind Mitch McConnell Campaign Recording (http://www.wfpl.org/post/source-progress-kentucky-behind-mitch-mcconnell-campaign-recording#.UWbu5Vorq1o.twitter):

A secret recording of a campaign strategy session (http://wfpl.org/post/mother-jones-obtains-secret-tape-mcconnell-campaign-strategy-session) between U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and his advisors was taped by leaders of the Progress Kentucky super PAC, says a longtime local Democratic operative.

Mother Jones Magazine released the tape this week. The meeting itself took place on Feb. 2.

Jacob Conway, who is on the executive committee of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, says that day, Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison, who founded and volunteered for Progress Kentucky, respectively, bragged to him about how they recorded the meeting.

Conway says neither the local nor the state Democratic party had any part in the incident.

This is the same Democratic PAC which ran racist ads against McConnell’s wife.

As previously discussed, the means of recording would determine whether it was illegal (http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/04/what-did-mother-jones-know-about-alleged-mcconnell-bugging-and-when-did-it-know-it/). The report is that they were not in the room and therefore not a party to the conversation, but eavesdropped:

Morrison and Reilly did not attend the open house, but they told Conway they arrived later and were able to hear the meeting from the hallway.

“They were in the hallway after the, I guess after the celebration and hoopla ended, apparently these people broke for lunch and had a strategy meeting, which is, in every campaign I’ve been affiliated with, makes perfect sense,” says Conway. “One of them held the elevator, the other one did the recording and they left. That was what they told to me from them directly.”

The meeting room door is next to the elevators on that floor. McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton has told multiple media outlets the door was shut and locked on Feb. 2. But the door has a vent at the bottom and a large gap underneath.

“Apparently the gentlemen overheard the conversation and decided to record it with a phone or recording device they had in their pocket. Could’ve been an iPhone, could’ve been a Flip camera or something like that,” Conway say.

If this holds up, it is very, very big time, and on its face appears to be a violation of law.

Everyone should remember. Obama is in office, and his A.G. Is Holder.

What else do we need to know?

Nothing is going to happen to punish those two men.
They were Obviously Tricked into Recording what was taking place behind those closed doors.
They looked at one-another, and granted permission...two people...to listen, and record the conversations.

Case closed.

Remember? Obama is in office, and his A.G. is Holder.

Any other questions????+

Wow, MSM reporting:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/04/11/kentucky-progress-behind-mitch-mcconnell-leak-democrat-alleges/

Progress Kentucky activists behind McConnell tape, Democrat alleges By Rachel Weiner, Updated: <time class="entry-date" datetime="2013-04-11T14:09:00+00:00" pubdate="">April 11, 2013</time> Members of the Democratic group Progress Kentucky were behind a leaked recording of a private conversation among Sen. Mitch McConnell and his campaign staff about potential rivals, a local Democrat alleges.

The tape was not made by bugging the Republican senator’s office but by standing in the hallway while the conversation occurred, Jacob Conway, a member of the executive committee of the Louisville/Jefferson County Democratic Party, told news organizations.

Conway told Louisville NPR affiliate WFPL (http://wfpl.org/post/source-progress-kentucky-behind-mitch-mcconnell-campaign-recording) that Shawn Reilly, Progress Kentucky’s executive director, and Curtis Morrison, a former spokesman for the group, had boasted to him about making the tape.

According to Conway’s account, the recording was made in early February, when McConnell held an open house (http://www.whas11.com/news/McConnell-opens-campaign-headquarters-in-Louisville-189508481.html), with media included, to unveil his reelection campaign headquarters in Louisville. Reilly and Morrison were not at the open house, Conway said, but they arrived afterward and heard and taped the private conversation from the hall. The recording was published by Mother Jones (http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/david-corn-and-mother-jones-find-themselves-with-another-audio-scoop/2013/04/10/dd37a8a0-a21b-11e2-82bc-511538ae90a4_story.html?tid=pm_pop), a liberal magazine.

As of Thursday afternoon, neither Reilly nor Morrison had responded to a Washington Post request for comment on Conway’s allegations.

“WFPL’s reports that left-wing activists illegally recorded a private meeting inside our campaign headquarters are very disturbing,” McConnell campaign spokesman Jesse Benton told The Post. “At this point, we understand that the FBI is immersed in an intensive criminal investigation and must defer any further comment to them.”

McConnell’s staff had asked the FBI to investigate the recording earlier in the week.

Conway later told Fox News that he revealed the activists’ actions for the good of the Democratic party.

Apparently attacking the mental health of a political opponent, which she not only openly admitted to, but profited from, is morally reprehensible, but revoking the privacy and gun ownership rights of your fellow citizens who seek help is necessary.
Nice closer with the conspiracy theory though...not.

Here is how the liberal media will "report" this going forward. Looks like someone spoke to ABC and told how to inform their viewers of what is "really" going on

ABC Hypes 'Startling Secret Tape' of Mitch McConnell and Aides 'Scheming' Against Ashley Judd

On Tuesday's World News and Wednesday's Good Morning Ameica, ABC's George Stephanopoulos and Jim Avila ballyhooed far-left magazine Mother Jones's secretly-recorded audio recording of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's strategy meeting with political advisers about potential opponent Ashley Judd. Stephanopoulos touted the "startling secret tape revealing how the Senate's top Republican was planning to go after...Judd if she ran against him."

Avila played up McConnell's apparent "cutthroat attack on a Hollywood opponent" and the Republican's "private and politically-embarrassing strategy session", all the while omitting left-of-center ideology of the publication that released the audio clip and minimizing the possible illegality of its recording.
http://newsbusters.org/sites/default/files/imagecache/main_375/main_photos/2013/April/2013-04-10-ABC-GMA-Avila.jpgThe former Clinton administration official teased Avila's Tuesday evening report by trumpeting the "secret tapes – a Senate leader and his team caught on tape scheming about potential rival Ashley Judd, targeting her mental state." Stephanopoulos continued by playing a clip of an unidentified McConnell staffer emphasizing that Judd "clearly – this sounds extreme – but she is emotionally unbalanced."

Avila gave a sensationalistic introduction to his report: "If Ashley Judd thought the Hollywood movie business was cutthroat, welcome to politics, where the most powerful Republican in the Senate, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell can be heard plotting to crush the actress' now abandoned potential campaign against him during a secret strategy meeting."

The ABC correspondent then outlined that the Mother Jones recording exposed "possible campaign plans to attack Judd's admissions of a personal struggle with depression...and her religious beliefs. In Judd's autobiography, which McConnell's aides apparently read carefully, the movie star said, like Saint Francis, she believes in a God who is close to nature, and she talks to animals."

How long has it been since this story was leaked?

What is Holder, the FBI, or DNC doing about it?

Anyone want to suggest anything different than what I alluded to above???
